New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi.. CON's already full for 2012? Did you try applying for 2013 intake? How are you doing?

Yes it is. They said that they will put me on the waiting list and they do not directly answer if you will get a slot or not. they're system is trashy.

Tsk tsk that's sad.. Hmmm so you're scouting for other schools now?

Hello, thanks for the link.. and yes, As far as i know, you dont need an IELTS result for you to apply for a 456 visa.. it is not a requirement as I can see in the website. Im just wondering why PATRINGRN needs to submit his IELTS result to the embassy.. anyway, Where are you from? did you enroll already for the BP? what school? Im am for ETEA ocotber 2012 intake..

@shaneneo -- you're welcome. I'm from Cebu. You're way ahead of me. I still need to take the IELTS. For now, I'm doing the best I can with my time for research(looking into schools) and preparing the necessary documents. Hopefully, I'll be enrolled by Feb next year. Do you think it's possible?

It's probably upon the agency's discretion.. Well it's specified in the website of AHPRA and according to NMBA that you need to have atleast 3 months hospital experience for the last 5 years, paid or unpaid. I think it's really better to take BP than taking the RN conversion.. It's a lot cheaper and faster :)

@DreamMeansWork -- Yes I agree. I just thought that taking the RN conversion would provide more time for me to be able to find future employers, and got me thinking that I'll have better chance of finding a job when I take the RN conversion.

Wow! That's great then! But are you still applying for a job? Even as a volunteer? I've heard that Aus considers volunteer work as experience as well. I really want to message you, but I'm still new and all, so I can't send messages yet. :(

Hi there! Do you already have any experience? I'm still trying to build my credentials since I currently have none at the moment. :(

Hi! I haven't enrolled in ETEA yet but I am planning to be on the October intake. How much did you pay for the tuition fee? Is it true that we can still avail of the old 14k rate?

If you don't mind, kindly pm me your fb or ym or any contact detail. I can not send pm yet.

Is this info. true that the old rate can still be applicable when we apply ($14,000)??? hope somebody can answer me about this... thanks :)

hi patringrn, we have the same result. to everyone, is it posible to enroll in bp with one skill below 7?

for the school, yes retake... for the visa,

staff note. please post only in english

there is no need for you to submit an IELTS in the embassy. just send your certificate of medium of instruction instead.

the embassy sent me a letter...

Providing documents.. to facilitate further processing of visa, please provide the following:

IELTS TRF

Medical examination

**** how much do I have to pay for the medicals?

no need for schedules right? walk-in lang siya?

after medicals, how long before if I have been granted the visa already?***

****** I got accepted for the BP August intake at INHA.. the school is already asking me for visa updates.*****

Kaya I have no choice but to submit the IELTS with the 6.5 result.

Thanks!!
