Bridging Program in Australia
Hi Soulkisser, sorry to barge in like this, I hope you won't mind. I'm from Cebu too. I hope you'd be able to share some information with the application process. I have my IELTS requirement, and I'm still working on my documents to be sent to AHPRA. Which state did you applied for? Do you know which has the fastest processing time for now? By the way, I'm looking for schools that don't require the 2 years experience, do you know of any? Any input is very much appreciated :) Hi there ncx23xcn! I believe you need to have your IELTS requirement first. I was advised to by IDP to have this ready so that I can lodge my application to AHPRA. Hope we can help each other out, it seems like we're on the same boat :) GOD bless us all! ([email protected])

Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines
thank you for sharing your timeline. It gives encouragement to those who have not yet started lodging their application yet. I am one of those who are in this phase. May I ask, which state did you pass your application for AHPRA? Any recommendations as to which state has the quickest response to assessing applications? Any schools that offer BP that require less than 2 years work experience? TIA

New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2
guys, help me out please. I've tried searching previous post but I still don't know how to answer the question for the AGOS40 form: question no.4 - residential add --that would be the Phil add question no.5 - is your residential add the same as your principal place of practice in Australia ? --that would be a NO then it says Provide your principal place of practice address below (if you do not yet know this address, pls indicate the Australian State or Territory of your principal place of practice) previous answers that I have read in this forum is that this is the address of your current employer. Now in my case, it was still 2010 - 2011 where I had my previous volunteer experience and I am no longer employed. Should I still use that? My latest experience was just being my grandmother's private nurse. TI :)

New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2
@shaneneo -- you're welcome. I'm from Cebu. You're way ahead of me. I still need to take the IELTS. For now, I'm doing the best I can with my time for research(looking into schools) and preparing the necessary documents. Hopefully, I'll be enrolled by Feb next year. Do you think it's possible? @DreamMeansWork -- Yes I agree. I just thought that taking the RN conversion would provide more time for me to be able to find future employers, and got me thinking that I'll have better chance of finding a job when I take the RN conversion.

I don't think you will be needing IELTS for the 456 visa. I hope this link will help you. Business (Short Stay) Visa (Subclass 456)

New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2
@riiko08 - Thank you for sharing. I envy your friend, hopefully I would get the same luck. Did she apply way back before ? because I have heard that it was way easier back then to get in compared to this time. I'll try to check William Light Institute..Btw, I did volunteer work as a staff nurse for 9 months.

New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2
Hi DreamMeansWork, are you eligible to take the BP even if you have no experience? I tried approaching different agencies and they told me that my volunteer experience would not count since it is not paid. I am considering taking the RN conversion program but t'would seem that only very few schools are offering it. If there are schools that offer BP for us nurses without experience, I'd be much thankful if you could help me out. I've opted to do it on my own, rather than spending Php70-80k for the agency.

thank you sooo much for sharing. you've made it easier for me to understand. i have been constantly looking for schools that would offer programs for nurses without any paid experience, and indeed financial matters is a great factor to consider. i am now considering ecu. i found the schools that you have mentioned in this site : (under general registration) nursing and midwifery board of australia - approved programs of study however, the validity on the rn conversion program for ecu is oct.2011(transition july2012). does it mean that program is offered until next month? i was hoping to find schools in queensland or victoria since i'm planning to live with my relatives but i have seen that the rn conversion programs are only offered in western australia. are there other programs/courses that i could look into? i'm also considering the course for enrolled nurses, since the tuition fees is lesser. what do you suggest?

Filipino Nurse w/ no hospital experience who wants to study in Australia
uupppp for this.. experience would only be counted if it's paid. unfortunately, I only had 9 months of volunteer as a staff nurse. I know there are a lot of agencies who would readily assist you on this, but with the PF of Php70 - 80,000. It's a lot and I'd like to be able to save that money since studying in Australia would be very expensive. Any suggestion guys? APHRA site seems to be down too..

i just passed the NCLEX/RN....what's next?
I am planning to go for NJ as well, so I did my research and this was what I got so far, however I do have a lot of questions and I really do know where to begin. There are five (5) elements that are now required for licensure of a foreign graduate as a nurse in New Jersey including: 1. A transcript review performed by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (C.G.F.N.S.) (You are required to have the Full Education Course by Course Report.); 2. Proof that the applicant has achieved a passing score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language exam, TOEFL (C.G.F.N.S. is also providing English language evaluations) (Must be submitted only to C.G.F.N.S.); 3. A completed licensure application for graduates of any foreign nursing program, which includes information concerning the applicant’s educational and experiential background; 4. Criminal History Background Check clearance; and 5. Passing the appropriate NCLEX licensing examination. For the requirement no.1 - I went to the CGFNS (CGFNS International but it says there are 2 types of reports and I'm not even sure if I'm on the right track. For no. 2 - I understand that I would still need to take an exam, right? For no. 4 - the application form asks for SSN, which I do not have. source : http://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/nursing/fornurse_app. I'm beginning to think that NJ is not the right place for me. What other states would you suggest that I may try considering? Thank you
