Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I really suck on writing subtest of IELTS that's why Im considering the offer from Einstein. This is the route that I think will work for me to get the desired rating as required by the AHPRA.im such a loser
Don't be, it is cheaper to take first the BP in the long run and faster to be registered if you have the IELTS.
I know of a lot of IELTS takers who took it for so many times. You will get it right the next time.
Check what you can or can't take in by looking at the government custom websitehttp://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/travel/entering-australia/cant-take
Thank you Silverdragon! :)
Hello! I already have my AHPRA eligibility letter but my IELTS is expiring on the first week of August. I will be having my bridge course also on the said month. Do I need to re-sit for IELTS? Please help!
By the way, my AHPRA eligibility letter is also expiring next month but I already wrote AHPRA regarding such matter and they told me that it can be extended as long as I can present them a confirmed enrollment in a bridge course before it expires. I only thought of my IELTS just now so maybe someone has an immediate answer to my question above. :)
thank you for the info...i am hoping it would be a successful interview. i really appreciate ur help
Im still here in Phil. I think that it will be much easier for me to pass the OET with proper training and preparation. Im having a hard time in writing subtest. I inquired thru IDP and was able to learn that there some schools who offers BP without eligibility from AHPRA. But I will still have to submit all the necessary requirements to APHRA for registration after I finish my course.
seriously? may i please know the name of these institutions? thanks much
I've been here since 2009 before AHPRA was born. Had a job offer before I organised my registration. Moved just before people the grunt of the GFC. NZ seems like a nice place, will visit one day but not my cup of tea. You can ask those who got their visas and loe's how much they spent so far but pretty sure that 800k was not enough. You can google how much your rent will be and how much for airfare. Consider also transport costs, food, entertainment and other incidentals. After your BP, you need a sponsor for work. IELTS should be current for a work visa.
hey bobby..i can't pm you..thanks for the reply..i seemed confused.is oz much better than nz?is it possible to apply for a working visa/silverfern visa (nz) without an employment offer yet?i have 3yrs+ of xp as rn.thanks
Good day everyone....
I'm one of those lurkers and members here in Allnurses since 2009. and just started to accummulate all documents last 2010 and pass my docs 2011 july in aphra. I recieved my eligibility letter early october of 2011 and just waiting for my ielts results.
I took the IELTS exam lots of times (5x) to be exact and there was a moment that I just loose hope of not taking it anymore and just be a plain age carer.. But my husband supported me and encouraged me to pursue nursing since i already had the eligibility letter.
Then I got pregnant and its unexpected but it is a wanted pregnancy coz we have been waiting for this for 2 years.. so that adds to my motivation to do good and pass IELTS for the sake of me and my tiny 6 month young baby in my tummy..
I checked online for the result yesterday and Finally for the fifth time of taking IELTS I Ace it with OBS of 7.5... I'm so happy of what I've got. I can start scouting for some BP school now...
Praise and Honor be to God.
For those who are having difficulty passing their IELTS exam just keep on practicing and never loose Hope, faith and trust in HIM.
We will all be getting our goals and aims in time..
Ii IHNA still valid for doing the BP course? as I have seen from AHPHRA approved study program dated march 5 2012 IHNA is approved unti july 2012?
AHPRA - Web page or document could not be foundny other schools that anyone could recommend aside from IHNA that is offering BP course with in this year including the dates of each intakes would highly be appreciated.
THanks
