New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

hi.. how much is enough?? im also thinking about pursuing my oz nursing application this june maybe.. :/may i know your timeline?why did you not opt for nz?any other insights? thanks much :)
I've been here since 2009 before AHPRA was born. Had a job offer before I organised my registration. Moved just before people the grunt of the GFC. NZ seems like a nice place, will visit one day but not my cup of tea. You can ask those who got their visas and loe's how much they spent so far but pretty sure that 800k was not enough. You can google how much your rent will be and how much for airfare. Consider also transport costs, food, entertainment and other incidentals. After your BP, you need a sponsor for work. IELTS should be current for a work visa.

Hi, Guys. Is it acceptable or what is the possibility for me to be granted a student visa if in case Ill enroll in Einstein College for English Occupational Preparational Course? I am having a hard time meeting the rate for writing subtest via Ielts. Would this be okay? After the course and OET exam I plan to enroll in a bridging course. Please help me with this. I badly need your assistance guys.

Hi! For those who have had their Visa application done, may I ask what is the Address of Australian Embassy here in Phil? I believe this info is needed in acquiring bank certification. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

not quite sure if you can check it online especially that you lodged it with the VIA center and not thru online application..The confirmation would usually be in a form of a text message

hi dear =) how do we apply thru online? you mean to say, you did yours thru online? and how about your docs that need to be submitted?

hey, did you apply for a health insurance as this is one of the requirements? or this isn't a must?

tia =)

Hi!

To all those who had traveled to Aus,

Is it okay to bring multivitamins (100pcs fern c), biogesic, sinecod, decolgen?

I also have my nasotap (nose spray) in case my nostrils will clog due to colds and cause me a headache?

Can I bring these?

Thanks! :)

hi..i applied mine directly to the VIA center here in Cebu, I find it more secured to do it such as they would really go over the requirements before submission and will advice if there are certain documents i need to follow..I haven't applied for any health insurance yet and still got approved. I didn't see that in their checklist as well..

I pray that everything will go well with your application too..

Any feedback to this will be greatly appreciated as well..I am planning to bring Omega pain killers, as this sure relieves me of back pains especially caused by extreme cold..ahaha..

Are we allowed to bring medications?

Re: laptop: I hope not! This is also my problem!

I'm almost sure that vitamins are a NO. Over the counter meds like Paracetamol, I think you can bring a few. Other meds you'll need a prescription. I never bring items with milk like 'polvoron' or ice cream - you can buy them at Manila airport but can't be taken in anywhere in Australia. Should not bring items made from plants like bracelets made of seeds, etc. They will not open your laptop. They will ask you to take them out of your bag before it goes through the X-ray though. Make sure to be honest with your customs declaration. If not sure tick yes, so you won't get in trouble when you get to customs.
