Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Before you get readers of this thread carried away I might just point out that if you are coming to Australia with a student visa you will only be allowed to work for 20 hours a week. You work 75 hours a week? That's roughly 11 hours a day for 7 days? No time off huh?
Full time workers normally work around 76-80 hours a fortnight.
sorry I stand Corrected.. 75 hours fortnightly. =) thanks for that bobby..

i can work as much as I want... =)
Hi everyone, been reading the thread for a while and got some questions.
1. The procedure and skills checklist being asked for the CV, do i use my schools checklist ( which may be incomplete, tried comparing it with some i see on the net ) or should I used the ones I find in the internet?
2. When sending my papers to an APHRA territory, which address do I send the one with P.O. Box or the building Address.
I'm just left in finalizing my CV and the Statement of service that needs to be redone because it doesn't say the details. I'm afraid might make mistakes and not get registered. Would need some help. Thanks.
An RN 1.9 normally gets about 39-40 AUD an hour. To remind our readers again, we normally have 9 years or more experience as RNs to get that hourly rate.
It is unlikely that you will get that rate if you are a new RN. You should google for entry level RN rates or RN 1.0? or 1.1 to get an idea of how much you might earn.
