New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hi! I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if you guys can help me fill out the AGOS 40 form from AHPRA? I have a few questions and I've outlined them below...

1. -Principal place of practice address

Is this filled out with my current work address in the philippines or my desired work address (state, etc) in australia?

2. In section D pertaining to registration history the form asks for a CATEGORY of REGISTRATION - i dont really know what this means :-(

3. can I send a certified true copy of the statement of service instead of the original?

4. Do you commit to only practice the profession if you have appropriate professional indemnity insurance arrangements in place? I dont have any insurance coverage, is it ok if i tick the NO box or should I get one before passing this form?

5. should the result of my IELTS exam be forwarded to a specific state or territory office of APHRA? what do you recommend?

6. on the part about AGENT authorization...

I consent to this application being discussed with and relevant correspondence sent to _ Migration Agent _significant other. What should I tick? Are they responsible for finding a migration agent for me?

Thank you so much for all your help! :-)

Got my 456 Visa!!! yehey im soo happy. After series of anxious moments, the patience totally paid off! thanks you Lord :):w00t:

Congratulations jayvincible!!:yeah:

I am about to lodge my 456 visa application and was wondering how did you answer question #18 in your application form where it asks for your Australian business contact? I'm thinking that I should fill in details of my school but then again, I might be wrong.

To others who are also applying, how did you go about this question? TIA guys!

Hello everyone!

I'm just new here and I really find this thread very informative.

I already applied to AHPRA and got my LOE last year. However, I needed to retake my IELTS since it had expired. Thanks God I was able to successfully pass it last month. Now, I'm looking for a school for the bridging course. I'm really interested to apply at IHNA however I don't have the minimum 2 years experience that they require. I only have a year and half. Is there someone here who was able get a slot there with an experience like mine? How long do they respond to online application? Please share your experience guys. It would be a great help. Thank u.

Hi Dashe!

I have a friend who is an IHNA graduate batch 2010 who had 1 year and 8 months experience. Just try submitting your papers. You'll never know, they might just respond to your application. Best of luck in BP hunting!:)

Hi nursezest,

Thanks! As far as I can remember, I wrote the one who always responding my emails from my school, her contact number and address of the school.

Specializes in Acute Care. ER. Aged Care/LTC. Psyche.

after 7 months of waiting (and I'd say it's worth it), I finally have my "in-principle registration!

just a little bit of background about me:

-Filipino citizen

-earned my BSN 2008 in the Philippines

-did not take NLE, took NCLEX right away

-granted H1B visa

-been working in the US since 2009

now, my AHPRA timeline:

-July 27, 2011 - sent my application to AHPRA - ACT

-August 2, 2011 - they received my documents. it took awhile because I sent it to the GPO address and not the physical address so postal service had to reroute the package

-November 22, 2011 - received an email saying my documents are complete and will be finalised

-late December - i emailed them for updates but my case officer was on-leave but the registration officer told me that my application is complete and is referred to the Director of Registrations for "approval consideration"

-January 31, 2012 - received an email saying that the Director of Registrations referred my application to the NMBA board meeting.

-February 16, 2012 - the meeting was held

-February 27, 2012 - received an email from the Director of Registrations saying that my application meets the standard of registrations, no bridging program required, just need to present myself to any AHPRA office and provide identification and original copies of documents.

Whew! that was a long but fruitful wait. Thank you Lord!

And God bless to everyone whose still waiting for eligibility!

i just wrote the state in oz where i intend to practice.

2. in section d pertaining to registration history the form asks for a category of registration - i dont really know what this means :-(

i wrote professional--- i really am not sue if it was correct, i haven't received any feedback regarding that part.

3. can i send a certified true copy of the statement of service instead of the original?

only certified true copies must be sent aside from your cv which is the original.

4. do you commit to only practice the profession if you have appropriate professional indemnity insurance arrangements in place? i dont have any insurance coverage, is it ok if i tick the no box or should i get one before passing this form?

tick "yes"

5. should the result of my ielts exam be forwarded to a specific state or territory office of aphra? what do you recommend?

submit it to the same address where you sent your papers to be assessed.

6. on the part about agent authorization...

i consent to this application being discussed with and relevant correspondence sent to _ migration agent _significant other. what should i tick? are they responsible for finding a migration agent for me?

i did not answer that part since i only applied/processed my papers myself, if you are in an agency then provide their details.

thank you so much for all your help! :-)

Hi.

this might be off-topic (or just a slight).

has anyone applied for a tourist (subclass 676) visa?

what is the process like?

and what documents did you provide?

and to those who already got their registration number, what ID's did you present to AHPRA so you can get your registration?

thanks!
