New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

you have an australian license already? i thought you are just like one of us hopefuls here?

yes i have.. just staying in this thread which helped me a lot when i was still a "hopeful" back then..

i'm not sure if i can say this in this thread or even through PM. because it says that their e-mail reply to me is confidential...

back then, applicants would receive initially an "acknowledgment letter/email" which is just a simple message that your application was already received, then much later, they would send you an email/letter which discusses formally the status of your application..

so i dont know how things are going now..

good luck..

I received an e-mail today by NMBWA stating that I don't need to repeat the English Test as long as I finish the BP within 3 years. I called AHPRA and they informed me that as long as the nursing nursing curriculum that I finished is in English, then I don't need to submit an active IELTS for registration.

For the 457 visa, I need to get 5 in each of the four tests.

Thank you Ceridwyn and Cioman!!

@Girlash... as Ceridwyn advised, there's an ongoing debate about IELTS under the AHPRA rules, definitely you will be under AHPRA rules by the time you finish your BP, so while waiting for January 2011, you are ryt, better resit the IELTS..

good luck to all..

okey, great.. at least you know the which agencies that may affect your IELTS situation,, which are AHPRA and DIAC, just monitor any changes of their policies on IELTS, hereon.. good luck..

no i didn't, or rather, can't include it. because in the hospital where i volunteered, they don't include job description in a volunteer nurse's SoS, so...i'm in trouble! ahihi!

btw, love the username! are you a kris aquino fan? ahihi!

hi glio! i can't send a pm yet because i'm new here.. thanks for the update! goodluck!! better than no reply at all right?

the answer is YES... it simply means: You promise that before you WORK as a RN, you must first have a prof. indemnity insurance (PII)..

TO YOU AND TO ALL FUTURE AUS. RNs... in order to comply with this policy regarding PII by the time you become an Aus.RN, all you have to do is to become a member of ANF in the state you are working.. if you work in Victoria, then be a member of ANF Victoria.. if you work in NSW, then be a member of NSW NA.. the membership fee already include the insurance premium, so you will save a lot, hitting two stones with one bird...

good luck to all applicants....

Thanks a lot cioman!!

Cheers mate!

@kristeeta

what do you mean by documentation on skills assessment?the statement of service from the hospital?yes i did attach.
