New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Congratulations! Where are you at? Your best bet is going Private at the moment. Don't go to Tas because the public hospital is in the red.

www.careerone.com.au is the place to go.

Thanks for the tip bobby123. I hope I get a job soon! :D

Thanks a lot for the information serenepalma! You must be very good! hehehe

Anyway, are the quizzes, assignments, case presentations easy or difficult? Try comparing it with your experience here in the Phils. How many of you were qualified for an early exit during your BP intake?

I hope that you could answer this query.:)

I'll PM you

Hi Everyone here :) Like macpao, I also got my Registration from AHPRA today, ended my Clinical Placement last 01 July 2011 (took the program in CON). I basically waited 15 days for my nursing registration to come out but I had classmates who had their registrations in 2-5 days.

Anyway, I'm back in the Philippines now but I'll be returning back to Australia, meanwhile I'll try to apply for jobs from here. See how it goes :D

And so Lithotomy strikes again... :monkeydance:

is there a form for licensure verification to be submitted to AHPRA?

my current nursing board said that I should forward them a license verification form from AHPRA (well I really did not tell them yet that it's AHPRA, I just ask them the process for license verification to "overseas" nursing board).

hello guyz, im planning to start completing the reqts for APHRA... just want to clarify if these are the forms i need to fill up and pass to APHRA????

"Application for general registration (graduated or trained overseas) as a Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse or Midwife - AGOS-04"... THANKS in advance :)

just tell your US/state nursing board to use its own form and send it to AHPRA.. that's good enough.. cheers!

just dont forget the "situation" if you will process your 457 visa while in the Phils. versus while in Australia..

Hi Guys! After more than 1 year of processing, taking the bridging course and registration, I'm finally a registered nurse in Australia! :D Now it's time to look for a job. :D Any tips?

Congrats Macpao! I'm happy for you bro!

Yeah :) Anyway, i hope to go back with an immigrant visa, that is why I had to exit Australia 'coz it was an offshore application.

But yeah, my classmates stayed to maximised their 3 months stay and look for employers, go for interviews, have their 457 processed while in Australia. One of my filipino classmate got a job offer on the 2nd day of our clinical placement from the same hospital... lucky... the others even without the AHPRA registration has been called in for interviews. But you really have to put efforts in the job hunting and persevere enough 'coz its inevitable to sometimes feel tired and weary... I never tried the job hunting firsthand yet but I see my classmates go through with it, some are anxious, some are lucky...

Piece of advise, its really important to have the proper referees because employers would really call them, so while you're on clinical placement do your best, perform to the highest level, don't stop learning, have good interpersonal relationship :)

Hi guys, Is there any one here who will take their BP at ETEA or ACFE maybe this September? Kindly PM me. It would be great if I will have a Filipino classmate
