Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Did you check your spam folder in your email? I found the email from my registration officer in my spam folder.. I know your eligibility will arrive really really soon. :) my application is just 4days ahead from yours.. Patience.. It will come. :) where are you planning to take your BP, if I may ask?
hi LOimVE!
yes, you're right, i got my eligibility letter 4 days after you got yours even if i didn't receive any email from a registration officer. :):) Thanks God!:)
To iamnomad,
So did you register under the previous standard managed by each state and territory? Are you already working in Australia? --- as per iamnomad
Yes, I did register under the previous set up. Each state had their own Nursing Board. Now with just the one Nursing Board you have the advantage of working in other states without having to register with another state.
I will soon send my application in Aphra and I would like to ask where could i possibly send it that have the fastest approval of eligibility? (my Ielts will expire very soon
) Is WA still the best place to send?
Hi Ruselle,
Yes you are right most people here agree that WA is the place to send your application but you will only get an approval for eligibility if your documents are complete.
Goodluck
old rules / prior ahpra: 2 or 3 of the 8 nursing boards then will consider your UK or USA experience, such that you will no longer undergo BP.. im fully aware of this old rule because ive heard stories of this, and im a beneficiary of the old rules too..
presently, AHPRA: generally, all RNs who had earned their BSN in USA, UK, Canada, Zimbabwe, South Africa, New Zealand, Singapore and Hongkong, will usually not be required to do BP ( a memo / statement was released about this last year in ahpra's website).. hence, if you have years of experience in the USA but your BSN was earned in the Phils. then you will be treated just like a Phil.-RN who has nursing experience in the Phils.. consequently, must undergo BP..
however, please take note that AHPRA remains in an "adjustment" period and which there will be "grey" areas%
Hi good day! just this moment some agency/consultancy emailed me that AHPRa as of this moment doesn't require IELTS and will give you eligibility even without IELTS... I'm really wondering where it stemmed from... Is there any validation with such info? :)
1) have you read the whole website of AHPRA / NMBA ? in that way, you will get first-hand info from ahpra..
2) i do not believe such agency..
3) it stemmed from the greed of earning money, by the agency..
4) assuming it is true, remember that many bp schools require ielts, hence, you cannot enrol in said schools..
5) and assuming you finished your BP and become Aus. RN, you cannot work because DIAC will require ielts from you.
6) therefore, at the end of the day, you need ielts, better get ielts while you are in the phils., it is not "heaven" in taking ielts here..
again, i hope im wrong for your benefit..

thanks for that cioman, i also doubt the info 'cause i checked AHPRA's website. I was just surprised with the email, maybe it's just some form of strategy to attract potential clients... :)
