Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!

List of bp providers are all posted on each state's nursing website.
First is to choose a state or territory you wish to practice, then apply for registration as an overseas trained nurse. You're the one who will choose the BP provider and this will depend on your budget and date of "intakes".
HPH and DOH offers the cheapest BP fee i think,1.1k and 2.3k AUS $ respectively and both are found in the state of WA,however HPH requires 1 year hospital experience, while DOH requires 2 years clinical experience in an acute setting to attend their courses.
@newmac
Notary public in the philippines will do,just make sure that the name of individual certifying the document, their signature, date of certification, contact address, phone no. are all include.d.All state/s nursing council are strict on this one.
Goodluck everyone..

Thank you very much for replying! :) could you please tell me what "HPH" and "DOH" stand for? I already have 6 months experience as a volunteer at a military hospital here in the philippines. That means i would only need 6 additional months to make it one year. Would they credit that as experience?

HPH-Holywood Private hospital,DOH-Dept. of health. They accept volunteer experience at HPH.The january intake is already full and limited only to 25 slots as posted in this thread before.I'm not really sure if they will offer it on the next intake dates as the national registration will commence on july.I suggest that you contact them, visit WA nursing council website and read this whole thread.I know it is too long but it will be worth your time.
Hello,
Seems like PRC is not used to sending the Cert of Good Standing (CGS) to state boards. Anyway, just my opinion. They gave me CGS for NBV license verification, correct, right? Then they assumed that I am the one to send it to wherever I want to. So, I explained to them that the state board needs it to come directly from them, the girl instructed me to buy a non-metered envelope. Then jot down the address in the attached bond paper (which is my photocopied PRC id). Pay for mailing fee, have it docu stamped. So after doing all that she required, she returned the empty envelop to me and said, that was ok, and they will just send it.
I don't know if its just me, I don't think they are quite familiar in sending Cert of Good Standings. How was the process with you guys who applied for NBV? Anyway, anyone here has got PRC's no.? I kind of misheard the number she mentioned with all the rush and confusion.
TIA
good luck to all applicants especially to the davaoenos nurses.. i just recently received a "temporary" registration.. the "final" registration will be made or decided on the next official nursing board meeting.. im praying that the nursing board will give their "final" approval on my application... im presently undergoing my DMC nursing training, and hopefully if given "final" approval/registration then i will apply for nursing job via online or agency in Melbourne (after my DMC training).. ive been a member of this thread since @ page 20 of this 300+ pages thread.. thanks to all who helped me.. pray always, it greatly helps..
by the way, if you will request for PRC Verification of License, or Cert. of Good Standing, tell the PRC personnel that you would like to send the said document via EMS.. So specifically tell them EMS.. EMS is still reliable and cheaper based on my experience.. I had 3 transactions requiring EMS mail and they did arrive at expected time, in fact earlier than what they have committed.. like: USA is 3-5 days, Australia is 3-5 days (but was delivered 4 days time)..
guys in melbourne, hope to meet you in the future..

First of all congrats. This just got me confused? why does the final registration need to be decided when you're all done all the requirements right ? Good on the job hunting.

@jaybadette how do you plan to apply if your verification is still unavailbale? im sure you can work out somethin with PRC.
i dont have nursing experience...
I plan to apply for the BP course in Deakin or Ballarat. i prefer a uni. That is if get my assessment before jan 25 2010 which is the closing date for Deakin's second intake for the program (commencing on june 2010, i think).
Thats why I asked how long before the others got their assessment result for VIC/Queensland. I sent an email to NBV and they said 28 days.
I have another question though, can a regular notary public in the phil do the certification of copies? or should be the "red ribbon" thing from the dept. of foreign affairs for all documents?
