There was a student in my class who asked why "everyone" didn't just receive hemodialysis in order to save wear and tear on their kidneys.
Not exactly a question, but there was another student who kept getting radial pulses of 60 every single time in clinicals. Come to find out, she said she could never feel a pulse, so she just counted the seconds on her watch for thirty seconds. Lo and behold it was always 30x2.
Another student who could never be made to understand that not all steroids are anabolic steroids (ie testosterone). To this day, he believes that prednisone will make you muscle-up.
While attending an LPN-to-RN program several years ago, one of my former classmates asked the instructor, "Is asthma contagious?" This was one week before graduation.
This student was an LPN with 10+ years of acute care experience. And she had been dead serious when she asked the question.
We had a gal in our class who over-thought everything.
She could not accept the concept that 1ml=1cc.
I :poop: you not.
Eventually, she just accepted it for what it was, but only after arguing with the instructor for about 5 minutes (though it felt like a very uncomfortable 30, instead).
The easiest dang conversion in the planet and she had to argue

We tell new nurses to ask questions. It's a great way for them to get up to speed with how things are done. But every once in a while we get a question that just makes you wonder ... What was that question for you?
