Today a third grader was sent to me because his hand was cramping from taking too many math notes. And his teacher actually wrote that on his nurse pass!!!! This happened while I was dealing with two first graders - one who ate the rock salt from the parking lot and the other who ate a crayon.

Has the whole school gone mad??

so the teacher couldn't come up with stretching out the hand a few times as a solution? What, what am I saying? Of course not - it's much easier to send the kid out to you and have you do that than to use a modicum of common sense. Pass the buck instead of fix the issue

Snowflakes exist in every age/race/gender demographic. There is no difference regarding the sense of entitlement between the youngsters I treat in the school and the baby boomers I treat at the SNF.

I see a huge difference in the rural area I live and the urban area I work. I have a small handful of snowflakes at school, but the adult children of the urban clientele are ridiculous, mostly 30-50 year olds.

Based on past conversation regarding generational differences, I think we have very different opinions on what constitutes "snowflake" behavior.

I don't consider a generation that is hopeful to be paid a livable wage should be chastised by a generation that grew up when it was possible to pay for college by working part time and then secure a job that paid enough to purchase a home right out of school. Inflation has not kept up with cost of living and there is no comparison.
