hey there, i just started my lvn program this past august. don't worry about that test, its not that difficult. do you remember the taas test? its not a whole lot different. have you bought the book yet? if not, you should get it, its really a good indicator of what you'll be doing on the test.

there is no special way to answer the reading questions. from what i remember it was more like "what color was timmy's shirt" rather than "what was the meaning behind timmy's shirt". they want to see if you can read quickly and grasp what was being said because once you get in, there is a ton of reading that you have to grasp quickly.

last year it was a long passage about hibernating bears. lame and dull.

math is just adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing whole numbers, decimals, fractions, and a few conversions inbetween. oh, and just a few very basic algebra problems. get the book. i'm telling you, its a big help. if you're having trouble with your math, go out and buy some 5th and 6th grade workbooks from barnes and noble. i did. it helped a great deal.

a good site my advisor gave me to study with is http://http://www.thea.nesinc.com/practice.htm the practice reading section is pretty much close to the one on the net. on the math section there were a lot of conversions from decimals to whole numbers and vice versa and also percentages, the rest was simple math.

Get the NET Study guide (ISBN:0967544645); the book goes over everything that is on the test. It was very helpful.

Math is very basic, but the reading part, like everyone said, you gotta be able to read fast but retain the info.

Good luck!

Im not sure but isn't the NET the same as the NLN extrance exam? If it is I can comment on it. If not just ignore this.

Dont waste time trying to learn a million vocabulary words. I tried that for a month straight and almost none of the new words I learned were actually on the test. so I just did the best I could on the reading.. The Math was simple.. I suggest spending the majority of time on Science because science is something that you can actually have a chance of getting a general basic understanding of and be able to answer most of the questions. Use the NLN study guide. Kaplan's is ok but alot of the math they had in the guide was not on the test. Though I did like their science section.

Specializes in OR Internship starting in Jan!!.

I'm pretty sure the NET isn't the same as the NLN.

As for the NET, get the study guide! It is exactly like the test and will really prepare you. You can prolly find it on Ebay. Best of luck!
