Nesting

Last night I went nuts when I got in from work. I rearranged my entire study, moved dog crates, my cat condo, my desk, added an extra bookshelf, unwrapped all my nursing books and found a place for all them, put things in my NP1 binder. I organized in my binder, my syllabus, neuman notes, study guide, clinical packet, oh and my favorite part...the tabs!

Anyways, after I did all that I was busy cleaning everything. I feel like I am nesting it is really funny. I guess I have a boat load of nervous or anxious energy and this is how I am releasing it. My whole house is going to be redecorated before school starts.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Ha Ha, I get that way every semester...just wish it lasted all semester! I tend to burn out on the organization thing about 2/3 of the way through each semester!!

Good luck with school!!

Exactly how it is before you have a baby...LOL

Yes, I did that last semester and I do feel the urge to do it this weekend maybe??? Or even tonight when I get home from work!! But yes, the fear sets in that you won't be able to devote your time to cleaning all semester, especially if you work as well!! I work full-time, school 3 nights a week plus a large amount of homework/studying plus a husbby and a 3 y/o! So, I want to at least get that done before I start in hopes that my husband can maintain it (RIGHT! :chuckle:chuckle:chuckle:chuckle).

I've learned a few tricks...I keep cleaning wipes in the bathroom to quickly wipe down the cabinets in the bathroom as well as the toilet and whatever else when I go in there for something (then it only takes a sec...)

I don't clean for too long...I will usually do one thing at a time so I'm not wasting too much time (time that could be spent studying I mean). If I'm cleaning windows, I'll do the windows and mirrors, and that's it. If I'm cleaning the counters, I'll clean the counter, stove, table, etc...

Try not to let clutter begin! Unfortunately this is a very large problem in our house!!!

Ugh...vacuuming...not one of my strong qualities!!! Maybe my husband will do it?

I just try to keep the house relatively clean...it works. But guess what...I don't worry too much if it gets a little dirty - I know why it's that way and so does anyone who comes over (not that I have many visitors during the semester...LOL). I don't really care what people think of it while I'm in school, but I won't let it get too out of control either (not all the time anyway). I can't stand to see dishes piled up or to hear my husband say "I'll do the dishes." and watch them continue to pile up. Then when he sees me doing them with that look on my face, he says "hey, I was going to do those." Oh really? When???

Dinners, I keep them easy...I swear, I didn't really cook a whole lot through school (well, a good portion of it anyway)!!! My daughter gets her food...she's only 3, so it's not too hard, but my husband and I kinda fend for ourselves!

All of that stuff really, if you look at it, takes up a lot of time!!! And leaves not so much time for studying...I'd personally rather use that time to study and spend with my family...not clean!

Happy nesting!!! I'm right there with you!!! :yeah:

It's great to feel organized and make the space for studying, good for you. Your post reminded me of my university dorm roomate. I always knew it was her time of the month when I would come in and her side of the room would be completely rearranged!

Thanks for the tips Lori. Those will definitely help keep my sanity this semester.

I spent the last five hours cleaning my home. From top to bottom, left and right and I can BREATHE!!. I start next friday and I am trying to get as much done now so I can concentrate when it actually starts.

When we went to orientation two months ago I was hoping for a syllabus or something, but no.:banghead: So I am trying to just take a deep breath and relax but I have the worst feeling when we start school on a friday that the instructor is going to drop a bomb on us for monday. Like "oh welcome to school ,have 12 chapters read by monday" I hope not but I have a feeling. I guess we'll see. Next friday here I come!

I am trying to get things organized before school starts. I know that if I don't do it now I won't have time when school starts. School starts on Aug 25th so I don't have much time left.

I can totally relate!! My kitchen remodel took a little bit longer as scheduled so I have been trying to get things in order. I went through my syllabus and tabbed everything. I entered the whole syllabus calendar into my outlook. I created specific folders in my computer for stuff. I even made my own website for friends and family to go and see how I am doing and leave me notes and encouragement! That way I can just post on one site and not have to worry about forgetting someone! It was free too!

I start school on the 14th so it is coming up really quickly!
