Debinding books?
They told me the same thing at one store and another one said it was fine that the problem was that they could not cut off the binding in one piece but they were still able to do it and it came out just fine. I only have a staples nearby so I had to make due. If you ask around you might find one willing to.

PDA Help!!!!
Why not ask your school if they use programs, and if they do from where. My school uses Nursing Central and I was able to find it at Skyscape for about the same and it came with a free desktop version. Also, we were required to have several reference resources that I was able to get off of Skyscape as well, so now I only have to take my PDA with me and not about 6 books. Good luck.

Please Help/ Peds Math
i haven't started school yet, i start on the 15 of this month, but i have been practicing some dosage calculations. everything made sense to me but the childs weight. it was originally given as 6.78 kg but you show it as 15.78 kg, why the change? am i correct if using the 6.78 weight it would not be a safe dose for the first part of the question? i may be completely off but since the rest of it made sense to me except the weight i thought i would ask. thank you

Things You Do In Nursing School
Out of curiosity, your school had the students nude for bed bath practice? Is this the norm? Also, was it mandatory? I have heard of many schools requiring bathing suits or shorts and a tank top, but not nude. Just curious.

Are You A Military Wife And In Nursing School?
I agree with you. I know he'll be great about it when he gets home. He is always telling me how he wishes he could be cooking and changing the kids and bath time and all the other lucky things I get to do. Lucky, not so sure, but happy to do it nonetheless.:loveya::redbeathe

Are You A Military Wife And In Nursing School?
My husband is re-enlisting for this very reason. He is scheduled to get out when I have only 7 months left and since I know we can't transfer I refuse to move. He doesn't want to be without us so he's doing another 4. What can I say, do I feel bad, yes and no. I want the stability associated with military life, but do not want the stressors of deployment and thats obviously not going to change anytime soon. Here's to hoping that things work out for us all.

Are You A Military Wife And In Nursing School?
My husband is in the USMC and is currently Afghanistan till Nov. I start school in Aug. I don't have family in the area and its kinda tough. We have a 3yr old DD and a 22 month old DS. It gets frustrating at times because my husband and I work things out in the house together when he's home, so it means more work for me to pick up the slack when he's gone. My DS just started daycare to get ready for me to start school and DD has been going for 3 months. They are doing ok, just missing not being with mommy all the time now. I think I am more scared that I will alter my schedule and forget to prioritze school when my husband comes home. I am kinda used to dropping everything when he comes home to make him feel at home. This is the first time that I have been out of the house in 2 years, I have been a SAHM and I think he came to depend on me being in the house and its going to be a big adjustment when he gets back. I just want to be able to maintain the routine for school work and study, plus kids and not step on his toes. I know we are in for a ride. He is already re-enlisting here for another year so that I can finish before we PCS. I feel guilty that I may not be able to be here for him the way that I want to or the way that he wants me to. Being a military wife has its ups and downs, I am just praying that school will not bring us too far down.

Resources ??
We are required to buy Nursing pocket guide: diagnosis..etc. While its not that expensive, I keep reading that it does not supply enough rationales for care planning. Does anyone have a suggestion to a good care plan resource that I can use in conjunction with this? Thanks

Would You Prefer a Male Nurse?
I had a male nurse appear during my first childs delivery, I have to admit it took me by surprise but once I realized that he was just as professional as the other females, I totally went with it. He held my leg and was really nice. My mom and hubby had the other one. I was in the navy at the time and now I realize that quality has a lot more to do with it than gender. Male or Female, just know what you are doing, be good at it and be NICE! My

Onslow Memorial Any good?
My husband and I might be relocating the Jacksonville area and Onslow offers a tuition scholarship for those who make contract, as in for a certain amount for tution = 1 year of work. I would love to have a guaranteed job when I finish school but have no idea what the hospital is like. I have seen only one other post on it and it wasn't promising. Any one have any info on this particular hospital or others in the area? Any info is better than no info. Thanks:)
