I just got my acceptance to NEIT among some other schools in the area. Does anyone have some informed insight on the program? Thanks.

what would you like to know?

ZRC2009, congrats on your acceptance!! do you mind telling me what grade you scored for the Kaplan test you took for NEIT? I just missed the entrance by a few points, trying to see how the people admitted scored! thanks!

How is this school? What are the prereqs? Is there a waiting list, and when does it start?

All I know is anyone who pays 40,000+ for an associates degree in anything is infreakinsane. Theres so many better options out there!

Every post i see about this school is complaing about how much it is. Nursing school is one of the most competitive programs to get into and if you have to pay more to get a degree then it is damn well worth it. I know way too many people who have been on waiting lists for a few years with amazing GPA's. I am currently in NEIT's program and will be finished next december :). I personally think someone would be "infreakinsane" to not explore the possibility of this school if they've been on a waiting list for awhile. :)

There is no waiting list. You take an accuplacer test and if you pass that you take the kaplan nursing exam. The top 25 scores on the kaplan get accepted into the program. There are no prereqs to apply. If you have all of your prereqs done however you can apply to the fast track program. the standard track is 21 months long and the fast track is i believe a year or a maybe a little more.

Just curious-- which schools still have waiting lists? Last I knew, CCRI did away with theirs, and I know that my program (RIC) has never had a wait list- only merit based admissions.

Kudos to you for starting nursing school, good luck with everything!!

I shouldnt have said waiting lists specifically but just waiting in general.

Please reconsider your options. There is absolutey no reason to spend such an outrageous amount of money for an Associate's Degree from an as yet unaccredited school. There are other far less expensive options here in RI, all accredited: RIC, CCRI, URI. Why would you even consider NEIT? Is it because of the waiting list? Don't make foolish decisions to save time. I am an RN with a BSN from URI. I have been a nurse for 13 years. I started school initially at CCRI then transferred to URI in my sophomore year. I also know many RNs with ASNs from CCRI who are excellent nurses, and have excelled in their careers, so I don't believe having a BSN is necessary for success in the nursing field. But spending over $30,000 on an unaccredited school for just an Assoicate's degree is ludicris! Don't do it.

Its not crazy to consider this program AT ALL. All i know is im in a program (NEIT) that i have no doubt will be accredited and im NOT one of the THOUSANDS who get turned away every year because nursing school is extremely competitive to get into. Its awesome for the people who can get into the highly competitive programs that are cheaper BUT not everyone can. all im trying to get across is keep all options open. Ill be graduating next december with a degree in something i want to do and not settling for something else because i couldnt get into a school.
