I moved to Fort Worth from Southern California about 5 months ago and have had no troubles with finding work, even though I an a new nurse with minimal experience. I went to the Fort Worth Star Telegram's website and searched the online nursing advertisements to find a job.
Keep in mind that this is the largest metro area in Texas, so you may want to expand your job search to Arlington, Euless, Bedford, Hurst, North Richland Hills, Irving, Benbrook, Watauga, Keller, and other surrounding suburbs of Fort Worth/Dallas.
Watch out for Group1 in the DFW area-
It's something you need to be aware of as a TX nurse.

I am an LVN who lives and works in Fort Worth. Hospital jobs are hard to find here, but the LTC jobs are plentiful. In fact, I interviewed for 3 LTC jobs today and they all did not want me to walk out the door. Also, I have an interview scheduled for Monday. I currently earn $18.50 hourly at a large, upscale nursing home in southwest Fort Worth and $16 hourly at a small psychiatric hospital in Denton. Denton County pays remarkably lower salaries than Fort Worth. My experience is more towards post acute care on a extended bed unit. I have some med/sug experience which is where I would love to pursue more to gain better knowledge. I also have LTC experience.
If you're willing to do geriatrics, rehab, psych, outpatient clinic work, home health, or any number of things, you should have no problem landing an LVN job in Fort Worth.
May I recommend some great areas to live? Southwest Fort Worth is a nice place to live. North Fort Worth (along the Alliance corridor) is nice and booming. I also love the Fossil Creek area of north Fort Worth. Then there's the Mid-Cities: Euless, Bedford, Hurst, Watauga, Keller, North Richland Hills, and Haltom City. There's also Saginaw and Haslet. Thanks for the advice. I am going out to Fort Worth in May to do house hunting so hopefully I can stop by some facilities to talk with nurse recruiters or human resource departments.

Hi, I'm a LVN from California and I will be moving to Fort Worth in June. I already have my temporary license for Texas. Can anyone give me advice on the best way to search for jobs in Fort Worth? I have been searching on-line but I am not seeing a lot of ads for nurses in that area. Is the best way the newspaper job ads? Thanks for any advice
