You can ask me general questions here on the forum as they may be helpful to others in these type of program. I am usually on in the am. If you have the abuility to PM me andhave questionsod a more personal nature go ahead.
How long before anyone landed a nursing job?
How long after one is accepted into the program until one receives confirmation of the program.
I feel like I'm in limbo, no job yet, no health insurance, and I need to work. anyone have any advice?

Let's take it one question at a time.
Depending on your contract you may or may not be permitted to work. This usually is 90 days to 6 months or whenever your case in formally reviewed for the first time. During this time you must have 100% compliance with all negative drug tests as well as AA/NA meetings (usually 90 meetings in 90 days.) You can ask for permission to seek a job after that. In my case (California) I asked for permission to return to work and was told I could apply and send job description to them and they would review for approval. After about 6 months on the job I got my Narc key privilege back.
If you have already signed a contract you are in the program. When in doubt call your case manager. You will receive something telling when and how to call daily to see if you are required to submit UDS.
Hang in there! All things will happen in time. If you are a person of faith AA tells you that everything happens in God's time not our. Review panels love it when you can regurgitate AA/NA lingo. Money will be very tight for you and you will learn to keep a good budget with no extra's (daily starbucks, cable TV and that kind of stuff). In some states (California is one)you can apply for a receive short term disability under a diagnosis of Depression. You will need a Psychiatrist to make a diagnosis.
Right now you can work in any job that does not require direct patient care. I actually delivered pizzas. But you will lose your disability if you are collecting it. Don't feel bad about disability (it's your money deducted from your paychecks by the state.)
You may even quality for your states version of medicaid. Again don't feel bad about collecting It's your money!
Others may have more information pertianing to state specific information I hope I was able to help. This is a very difficult road but it gets easier as you go along and don't fight it. Just keep your head down do what your told and learn to walk and talk AA dogma.
Oh one other thing. Keep all your receipts for your drug tests, doctor's and therapy appointments. I was able to write most off these costs from my taxes as medical expenses. Check with a tax professional.
thanks for all your advice!! In my program, it says even if I sign it, it's not active until they sign it. I'm still waiting for them to sign. it doesn't state anything about not being able to work, just outlines my restrictions. so, do I continue to try to find work?

If you are not specifically restricted from working - go ahead and look for work. I don't know or really need to know what got into monitoring except to say that if criminal charges were involved you may been on the OIG exclusion list. You may face a battle getting employed. I have found that Psych Facilities and Dialysis centers are more forgiving so you may want to start there.
no criminal charges that I am aware of. thank you, you have been very helpful
