Hello all,
I would greatly appreciate a nursing managers input for this paper. I have listed the 6Qs below, please let me know if you are interested. All responses would be anonymous and if you would like to communicate via phone (text), email, or personal messages please do not hesitate mentioning that. Thanks!
Best,
A
1. Can the nurse leader name one way in which patient outcome data are used to improve quality and safety of the patient care?
2. How are specific national safety guidelines implemented on this unit?
3. Describe an example of teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration on the unit.
4. Provide an example of a nursing practice that has been changed in the last 3 years year based on current best evidence.
5. Provide an example of patient centered care (e.g., patients who have different values, rituals, etc.).
6. Name two main issues with the Electronic Medical Records on this unit, one that helps patient care, and one that complicates patient care.

Oh, puglife312! You will not find the responses on here to be what you are looking for. I know that it is logical to go on a Nursing Forum to ask Nurses questions and perhaps your professor even encouraged this as a time saver for you and even more so, the Nurse Manager but that is not how the majority of members here see it.
The main thing is that you won't really know if it's a Nurse Manager you are talking to unless you meet them in person and you can verify it and that I agree with but in the age of Skype maybe that won't be as big of an issue.
As with most things in life, it's the delivery not the content of what's being said. I hope that people read my response to you and moderate their comments with professionalism and kindness.
Good luck!!

I'm going to refer you to this post: https://allnurses.com/nursing-student-assistance/dear-nursing-students-970183.html
Basically, it explains why AN or any online message board isn't the best way to interview nurses, offers some alternative ways to find nurses to interview, and gives a little insight into some of the not so obvious intentions of getting you out there and interacting with people you can verify are nurses.

If I was a NM I would totally help you out. Good luck OP.
Thanks for the responses thus far. While I agree that the ideal interview, regardless of subject matter, would be in person, it is impractical and unnecessary for this paper. Moreover, I was hoping that a forum with so many members would garner a multitude of responses with different perspectives on the application of QSEN core principles and foster an honest dialogue about the applicability of those principles to nursing practice, but perhaps I was mistaken I suppose time will tell.
As for the points about verification, it would not be too difficult to figure out if someone knows what they are talking about. I welcome any feelings/tirades/opinions on this post, whether kind, professional or not hah

Good grief, puglife312!!
You have no idea what you are "welcoming!" Take a look around and you'll see what I mean.
Don't get me wrong, some members here can be very helpful and lovely yet others can be unhelpful at best and rude at worst. I guess it's like real world nursing in that regard.
Good luck!!!

In addition to what has been stated above, you do not yet have enough posts to communicate privately with members.

Word to the wise - the general hatred of these types of posts borders on histrionics around these parts. The only reason you haven't gotten a thrashing is because of some kind folks responded first. You won't get what you're looking for here.
Amen, VANurse2010, Amen.
