somedayrn2008,

I would love to look at it before my finals ONLY if it's not too much for you to copy it. Also, when people say send me a personal email, how do you go about?

Thanks!

somedayrn2008. . .better yet, put them into a word document and download them onto allnurses as an attachment. then, the attachment can be posted on the sticky https://allnurses.com/forums/f205/health-assessment-resources-techniques-forms-145091.html (health assessment resources, techniques, and forms) in this forum so a lot more people can see and take advantage of using them. head-to-toe assessment help/forms get asked about a lot on the student forums. any one of the moderators can help you with this.

Specializes in ER; HBOT- lots others.

sounds great! i will do that today!

Can't wait to see them!

This is stupid, but I practiced on one of my sons very large stuffed animals over and over. And literally went head to toe. and like the others said, no skipping..it's hard to remember stuff that way...do it in the exact same order every time, even within the systems.

Start at the head (or foot, whichever you feel more comfortable starting with) and check each area as you go down. When you're looking at an area, make sure you haven't missed anything by going through a checklist in your mind.

This was very helpful! Thanks...

hi somedayrn2008!!! I just seen ur reply to my post on the head and toe assessment, months later... yikes!! is it too late to pick up your request?? that would be so helpful! i start my semester at the end of august so i got time to practice some more =) that sounds like a great idea that you have! thanks a whole lot!

Thanks again everyone for ur help!!! ur the best!!

i didnt read every post, but i wanted to add this: when i went to clinicals we had this little laminated thing for 2 diff hospitals we went to about assessments & what is impt to them especially. i still have em, if you would like i could type them out and get them to you. just let me know. they really helped me. i did my full assessment, but was able to have a starting point for when i did go into rooms. and i would flat out tell the pt that i am new and i really didnt want to miss anything, so i would be using a cheat sheet. they always thought that was cool, and we usually ended up talking about it. most ppl were impressed that i was up front and honest about it!

in time you will get your own down, but it takes time.

we have all been there

GL!

Thanks to everyone that posted in this thread. Very useful information. Now I am off link hopping to find info on concept mapping.

I gotta say, I am so glad I found this site. I am learning far more here than I am in my lectures at school. (Isn't that sad?)
