Hi,
I'm a RN from Thailand.I'm required to take SEC in all areas. Has anyone taken SEC at Kwantlen, Serry for all areas ( Med-Surg, Pediatric, Maternal &child, Mental health )?
I would like to know about the assessment which is called triple jump. I have read the sample questions, but I have no idea about it. I will be taking SEC on 1-5 November 2010. If someone know, please help me.
-What is the triple jump?
-How does the assessor judge for this type of assessment?
-How do I respond for the assessment?
I appreciate your help

Moved to the International forum as per the red banner,
there are several threads on SEC have you checked them out?

I also have only the information given in the assessment package.
But I am feeling comfortable with the description of Triple Jump!
Maybe because our German written exams have the same style!
I will have my SEC assessment next week, perhaps I can give you more
helpful information afterwards!
The assessor won`t give you feedback, so it`s unlikely that they let you know how your performance was valued.
You will receive a letter whether you need supplementary courses or not!

Hi Mona77,
Thank you for replying my message. When you finish your exam, please share your experience to me. Do you take the SEC assessment in Surry?
Yes, SEC assessment will take place at Kwantlen Polytechnic University
in Surrey.
Of course I can share my experiences, but consider that I am scheduled
for general SEC assessment.
But it should be sufficient to explain triple jump, the type of questions and
interactions, e.g. in role play!

Hi greenbutterfly!
I'm also from the Philippines and is currently contemplating whether to apply for an eligibility to Canada or not. May I know what school from the Phil did you received your nursing education? How many months/yrs of expeirence do you have? My friend also applied for an eligibility but he applied in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and the nursing board in both states didn't require him to undergo SEC. He applied in 2009. Hoping to hear from you.

Nova Scotia and New Brunswick are PROVINCES in Canada, not states.
Sorry, my bad. Thanks for the correction.
