Hi,
I need help. I am planning to move to Plano, Texas. I have been working as a RN in DC area hospitals for almost 5 years now. And because of my husband job I need to move to Texas. I don't know much about the place neither I know much about nursing jobs there. Can somebody explain me how is nursing in Plano, Texas. How tough is it to find a job. How is the pay. Please feel free to suggest me for my move. I don't know if this is a good decision or not. I am in real crisis situation and need help.
Thanks.

With 5 years of experience you can expect to earn in the high $20s to low $30s in the D/FW area. The job market has become tight over the past 5 years, but things should be easier for you since you have some acute care experience. Keep in mind that hospitals in this area definitely have a preference for BSN degrees.
I got a phone interview at Baylor Heart Hospital Plano and I got an interview at medical center of Plano. Now I am very confuse in choosing. This interview was with HCA for the Med Centre of plano and the recruiter was supose to call me but havent heard from her yet. My another interview was with Hiring recruiter at Baylor and it went very good I am waiting for an interview with HR mgr now at Baylor. I am very excited, but could somebody tell me who do I choose Baylor or Med Centre? And How do I prepare for an interview with HR mgr? What do I ask?

I would choose Baylor over the other. Better pay better reputation and better benefits

Yep, Baylor is the better way to go. Better everything! Med Center Plano has a terrible reputation. The internet is filled with common nursing interview questions, with some great ones right here on this sight. Good luck!

TMCP is a Level II trauma center and the only Level I Comprehensive Stroke Center in Collin, Denton and Dallas counties. All of this means a hospital that stays very full and busy with much going on to learn and see. They are growing, expanding to add 68 Neuro/Critical care beds. They are a Magnet facility as well. Those I know who work at TMCP say that staffing can be a problem at times due to all of this growth and due to pay rates that are on the low end of average for DFW. Employee turnover is an issue. There is plenty of overtime to be had if you like to work it. All of them say they really like the people they work with and that the culture is good.
Baylor is known to have the lowest pay scale in DFW but high nurse satisfaction in some hospitals. I know a few who work at Baylor Heart in Plano and seem happy enough. None of them are singing its praises but they also aren't quitting.
So, I got an interview with HCA north Texas for med center Plano. Interview was OK, but the dint accept me I guess because they wanted somebody soon. I also had the interview at Baylor Heart Hosp Plano. Matter of fact three interviews at the same place. 1st with HR, second MGR and third with the staff. All three was good. What are my chances now. I haven't asked them about salary yet. I had a interview with the staff recently what should I expect now. Would they consider me?
I loved THHBP when I worked there and they pay great!! If you got that far in the interview process your chances are good!! They are amazing and right around the corner from where I live in Plano :)

@nxs60 congratulations. I guess you must be working in one of the hospitals in the Dallas area.
Can you please give some tips as to the interview at Baylor? I have a phone interview. What should I expect in both phases of the interview?
Thank you for your time.
