Ok, I took my boards on Wed and found out on Friday that I passed using "quick results", but here is my problem. I'm supposed to start orientation on Monday, but I don't have my license number yet. I explained to my nurse recruiter that I would be taking the boards Wed and would find out Friday if I passed or not and there didn't seem to be any problem with that. However, on the paperwork they gave me, it says to bring my license number. On the NJ BON, they state that they only update the site on the first of every month. How long after you pass the boards does it take to get the actual license number? Has anyone started an orientation program without it? I'm not really worried about it for the first day because it is all classroom and paperwork, no clinical. Has anyone had a situation similar to this? Please help.

In Texas, I was able to start as a GVN. No license number needed. All states are different, but in Texas I took my test on the 1st, "unofficial results" on the 3rd, license number on the 7th, and license in hand on the 14th. Good Luck!

Print a copy of the fast results page and explain that you do not have a license number yet.
