Need help choosing in Tampa

Hi all!! I am a new BSN graduate deciding between 2 offers: TGH acute care GN Residency or St. Joseph's acute care GN Residency. TGH starts at $23.07 and St. Joseph's at $24.74 for the day shift. I am completely torn between the two! If any one here has worked at either hospital ( or both ) please post your thoughts and advice. Thanks in advance!

I would take the St Joe's. I don't work at TGH but when i was there as a student, nurses didn't seem happy. Idk much about St Joe's but since they're part of Baycare, you have more opportunities to transfer hospitals later within their network if you wanted. TGH is just by itself, isn't affiliated with anyone else. Those plus more money...yeah, I'd take it lol.

Thanks Mandy!! Forgot to mention that the TGH position is a 12 month internship rotating to different floors until you find one that fits with an opening while St. Joe's is 12 weeks with the hope that you stay on the 1st floor that you are assigned, but you can ask to move if you are not a good fit.

You're welcome. I think the 12 month internship sounds great..IF they have multiple openings on multiple floors. You could also like a floor, feel u fit, but they never have an opening. Idk what their internships/training are like, but i don't think a whole year is necessary. I did 8 weeks..though I'm on a medsurg floor, but honestly, while you learn a LOT with a preceptor/trainer, you learn a lot more once you're on your own anyway. Just my opinion :)
