Perhaps you can go to this forum and look at all the information they have about the NCLEX and the study techniques they used. It also has info about what types of review books and the best and so on. You may have to look through it for a little while, but it's definitely worth it if you're unsure of how to study!

OP, I found it really easy to use the Saunder's disc. I was able to do 100 questions at a time and reward myself with a few minutes on facebook or some other distractor. 100 questions isn't hard to get through. Then I'd quickly review my wrong answers and make a list of topics I wasn't familiar with. After getting a list together, I would google search the term or the med or the condition--- just to get a quick frame of reference. Worked for me-- shut off at 75 in just under 20 minutes!
Thanx dat sounds good, i do enjoy doing questions, instead of cramming my head with sooo much info all my books have to offer.
Thanx again, sounds very reasonable

No one could focus if they are beating their head against a brick wall.........so stop doing that and :heartbeat yourself and for joy that you have what it takes to not give up and continue to pursue your dreams. Do not let anxiety and that head banging define you in the least. You are an awesome amazing person with a few setbacks that won't amount to much at all down the road a bit. Eat right, drink a lot of water, exercise now and again if you want to punish yourself lol..... Make a list of all you are grateful for. Things most assuredly could always be worse. Good luck to you!

I have to agree with semi, I too used the saunders disc. I would sit down every day and do anywhere from 100-300 question. I also used the book med-surg success. It is basically a book with nothing but NCLEX questions. it also tells the rationals and what to look for in each question that would help with coming up with the right answer. Good luck, I know you can do it!!!! woo hoo!

Once again thank you.

use kaplan and other books that have alternative questions ie select all that apply. once you can answer those questions with a 70% score then you will be good for nclex. select all that apply focus on a general topic and not a specific thing.

I say relax, breathe, and just hurry up and take the test. the longer you wait the more nerves will get to you. I mean if its been almost year,.. even if you spent just 1/3 of that year seriously studying or taking in material I think you should be ready. I would suggest to just take many practice tests over just reading the textbook or review book. the questions usually hit upon the major concepts that you must know which is what the test is geared to.
good luck!!
