as i have given canadian nursing exam and didnot cleared it, i didnot underwent any prep.course,i heard regarding various courses which helps in preparing for the exam, which will you recommend and kindly guide me how to prepare for the test to score high marks.thanks

I am sincerely not trying to be rude but your command of english is very poor. This can cause a lot of problems when you are being tested because the scenarios in the test depend on you understanding exactly what the question is asking.

You need to spend some time really getting a good grasp of english. I can bet that once you are comfortable you will do very well. I don't think the content is going to be that difficult for you when you can understand what the question means.

English is a really difficult language and because there are many words in english that can mean many different or worse many of the same things it can be really frustrating.

Check the phone book for an intensive english as a second language tutor, you will want to make sure the tutor has a good medical language background. Next you want to contact a nursing organizaton and ask them for some sample questions that will familiarze you to exactly how the test will be.

Have your tutor teach you how to break down each question so you can find the question.

I think this may be a simple language gap and once you get some intensive studying in you will do fine. Call RNAO for a sample test and a referall to english tutor.

hi suzanne,

i am living in canada and will appear in coming june examinaton (crne).i would appreciate your helpful tips to pass and score good in this exam.

thanks,

There are some review books available for the Canadian exams, but you can also use the review books for the NCLEX exam. I would try to do as many questions as possible. Shoot for getting about 3000 done before you sit for your exam.

And good luck......................... :balloons:

hello ral

i read your mail and here are some tips which i used:

  1. practice nursing process as much as you can and apply it in your problem solving approach e.g. when first action of a nurse is asked, then apply assessment phase of nursing process
  2. rest of all questions mostly implementation process applies e.g. chosse option wh ich shows implementation process

patient fell down from the bed, what will be the first action of a nurse?

first action of a nurse is asked

keywords:remember:

first + action

first - assessment

action - implementation

options:

- call for help

- call the doctor

- ask the patient he is ok?

- assess patient for any injury

  1. call for help - no

- first action of a nurse is asked

- this is class 3rd option/action

2. call the doctor - no

- do before calling the doctor (always remember)

- this is class 2nd option/ action

3. ask the patient if he is ok? - no

- what you did for the patient?

- problem perticularly ask you for the your action/implementation

4. assess patient for any injury - yes

- meet all the requirment - isn't it?

try to apply this approach

- always suggest and donot advice.

- practice canadian prep. guide ( donot remember anwers0

- be thorough with common diseases, lab. values, dealth and dying phsycology, child play and phsycology, intranatal excercise( breathing....),postnatal stress, antenatal complications, gi, respiratory, system and cardio disorder, drugs( actio, side effects, advers effects...) and more you better know

- read compandium

and try to practice problem solutions as much as you can do before test and see your performance and shoul be more than 75%

if have any quary, please feel free to ask me

sincerely
