Published

Hi- Can anybody give me any recommendations/ advice about working in the insurance field & how I would go about getiing my foot in the door? Any ideas about where I should go to network with nurses in the Atlanta area? Do you know of any local chapter organizations I should attend? What are my possible employment opportunities with my medical background? What would you do if you were me? -Thank You!- Lisa

I've seen nursing jobs for insurance companies on indeed.com

Check out local contractors , I've been placed in an insurance company through Aerotek.

Good luck!

I am not sure what type of info you are looking for but I just recieved a job at an insurance company as a medical review examiner and will start on the 16th. Like another poster stated indeed.com is a good place to start. I you have a wide range of experience in the medical field that will help with getting your foot in the door. Good luck!!!

Hi Been there, done that - What do you mean by checking out local contractors. What does that mean in the insurance field. Does that mean local insurance brockers? How do I look-up local contractors in the Atlanta area? Also- The big question is do you enjoy what you are doing?- Thank you for all your help & support!- Lisa

Hi Little Panda RN- Thank you so much for helping me. How did you go about getting your job with an insurance company? Did you know somebody who worked there or did you just apply for this job on indeed.com? Can you think of any other nurses you could refer me to who work with an insurance company?- Thank you!-Lisa

Hi Lisa! I went to the company website and applied. I have been in the medical field since 1994 and have worked many different areas. I am sure that helped with securing the position. My advice would to be apply and be sure to highlight in your resume any experience you have that would benefit them in the job you are applying for. Good luck!

Hi Been there, done that- I just signed-up with Aerotek. What is the position called with Aerotek? My recruiter with Aerotek wants to know the name of your position with Aerotek. He is trying to help me get a contractor position with Aerotek. I would truly appreciate your help & support.-Thank you so Much- Lisa

in atlanta i believe there's a chapter of the case management society of america (case management society of america > home). most "insurance nurses" are really field or telephonic case managers, with some doing utilization review. cmsa is full of helpful people, they have frequent meetings with educational offerings (you'll need to start getting your ccm for many jobs), and there are networking opportunities for job openings before they're posted.

Hi GrnTea- Thank you so much for your reply. I am very enthusiastic about attending the next Case Management Society of America local chapter meeting.

Thanks Again for all your help & support!
