Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Ok so i was just setup with excelsior, Im currently an LVN but having a little trouble getting started. When excelsior sent me my transcipt review on which classes i needed that was all good but when i'm on the study group site is shows each test as NC1-NC7 and i don't know which test stands for which one. Can someone give me a listing of each NC1-7 test what the classes name are so i know which NC study guides to print out. Thanks

Here you go, a quick comparison ...

Here is a quick comparison of new vs. old curriculum (NC = "nursing concepts"):

Essentials of Nursing Care: Health Safety = NC1

Essentials of Nursing Care: Health Differences = NC2

Essentials of Nursing Care: Chronicity = NC3 + functional assessment (new) + end of life care (new)

Essentials of Nursing Care: Reproductive Health = NC3 + congenital anomalies (was in NC4)

Health Differences Across the Life Span 1 = NC4 (minus congenital anomalies)

Health Differences Across the Life Span 2 = NC5 + cognitive assessment (new)

Health Differences Across the Life Span 3 = NC6

Transition to the Registered Professional Nurse = NC7/Foundations of Professional Practice

Are you sure you're on studygroup101 website? I only ask because I just finished EC's nursing program in May and only used study guides from studygroup101 to pass all of my test and the site doesn't say NC1-7; it list the test as they are currently called, essentials of health safety and so on..(just checked again before I posted this) if the site you are getting your material from list them as NC1-7 it may not be up to date with excelsior. I would just hate to hear you wasted time and money on old out of date stuff. My 2 cents, trying to help.

Im on the yahoo group for excelsior college, is there a different site i can go to to download the stuff for free? Can you shoot me the link? Thanks for all the help everyone.

I'll send you a message. :)

hey did you send a message already? i didn't get it. You can shoot me an email at [email protected]

Just to let you know that a lot of the info listed in the files sections of the yahoo groups is very old. Just look at the dates it was posted all the way to the right of the list. Although the info is pretty much the same, (after all, cardiac problems are cardiac problems), best to go with the latest if you can obtain it. You can get the studygroup101 info on ebay as well as their own site. SG101 is known as a pretty good study resource.
