Sorry to hear about your fail at AMC. I just took it there and passed and found it to be a great site, so my first recommendation would be to take it again at AMC. You're already familiar with the site and that will give you an advantage. Plus I felt the examiners were very fair and wanted me to pass. They weren't interested in failing me on tiny things that didn't matter.
My second recommendation is what you already did: take a good workshop. I'm a paramedic with very little experience in "the nursing way", and I was able to pass my CPNE with no retakes in the labs or PCS's. I wouldn't have been able to do this if I hadn't taken a workshop to teach me the grid, mnemonics, and general nursing way of doing things.
Good luck in your second attempt. I'm sure you'll get it this time!

I tested in February at Racine. The CE's work with you very well. Memorize the critical elements for the assessments you will be tested on. And do set up a lab station at home. Practicing the lab on regular basis would make it smooth and become a second nature when you test out. I attended a work shop, and that helped me tremendously. There is tremendous information on computer, where students have uploaded information to fellow students. Wish you luck, and will respond to any question you have.

so I got a date for this weekend at AMC. I feel like I know all of the CE's.....just scared of failing for something stupid. I don't know if I can handle another fail! I am excited to try again because I feel better prepared. I told my husband if I pass, i'm coming home and burning my study guide!!

It felt pretty good to throw mine into the recycle bin!! Now I kind of regret it because people email me with questions and I don't have my 'paper version' to refer to and I hate loading up the electronic one!
I think the Baptist is used in Amarillo for a site, it is very easy if you follow what you learned in the workshop. I know of a fantastic tutor in Amarillo if you want her email. Know your grid and PCS and you will find it a breeze but it helps to have had a personal tutor who has taken the exam. Just let me know if you want any contacts. Good luck
