I only have one more year of the RN program left but I'm not sure if I should continue or do the lpn route instead. I have a 2 year old and things are getter really hard, I just not sure if I can finish it.

... Hi. I am an 18 year old intern at a GYN office. I was wondering if any one could give me advice on what to do!!... I just started about 2 weeks ago, after the third day i was already left alone with patients writing progress notes and sending out cultures!! I am very nervous about making a mistake and messing with someones health!!! that is obviously not the reason i wanted to intern. I am overwhelmed with a ll the responsibility over EKG's, IM shots, SOAP notes, Doasges, and spelling all medications right!!! DOES ANYONE HAVE ADVICE!!!:sniff::sniff:

Are you a medical assistant or licensed nurse? Who is supervising you? I would start observing the common medications prescribed in that office and read about them. It also sounds to me that you would possibly be working out of the scope of your practice with administering medications, SOAP notes and teaching as an intern.

I would try and complete the RN program since you already earned a seat. It is very hard to get seats in RN programs, and since this is the route you chose from the beginning, you might regret it later. You may be able to sit for NCLEX-PN after your third semester (depending on what state you reside in-New York does not allow this anymore and there may be other states that are initating the same thing), but again, if your original goal was to become an RN, you might as well stay and give it the best you've got! Good luck...people do make it!

I agree witht the others advice, it may be more difficult to get into a program and also i know many lpns who intended to go back for rn but something always seem to come up and they never did it

will have some rough times in the next year but it is definitely worth it for you and for your family

how many of you are living on your own? do you recommend me moving out to an apartment while still in nursing school? because living with parents and silbings is stressful for me .

Well I still live at home and it really helps since I'm in nursing school and my current job doesn't pay enough for me to be able to live on my own... I think that it might add more stress since you'll have to worry about paying rent if you're not making enough money to do so yet... But I suggest you do what you think is best for you at this time :)...Hope all turns out well girl;)

does anyone know what is the chance of working at the clinic as a registered nurse. what is the difference between working at the hospital and a clinic for RN.
