I only have one more year of the RN program left but I'm not sure if I should continue or do the lpn route instead. I have a 2 year old and things are getter really hard, I just not sure if I can finish it.

well, i would say you have a hard earned spot in a RN program.. and a year will go by quick... i say stick with it... don't loose your spot in the RN program , they are hard to come by... you can do it.. you've made it this far .. you can finish... i have faith in you .. it will all work out i promise
thanks a lot for the advice.
Are you a nurse? If you are, how do you like it so far? is it worth it when you're done with the program?
Are you currently a nurse? If so, how do you like it and will it be worth it at the end?

Dear orange_sky,
If this helps...I have a seven year old...she was three/four when I started nursing school (BSN) and it was very hard. I had to work and go to class fulltime. At the time she was in daycare and preschool...by the way daycare is through the roof when it comes to expenses. I felt like a horrible parent because I hardly ever got to spend time with her and when I did I was completely wiped out. Times got really difficult...I almost lost my car etc. But I prayed, pushed, and tried to rally as much help as possible from loved ones (which always seemed to be stretched to the limit with babysitting). I graduated Dec 2007 and it was very fulfilling for not only myself but my child. So I encourage you that even though the road may be tough...try to keep going. You can do it! The reward in the end will be great...go all the way and become a RN...it's better to go through the rough now than later! YOu only have one more year...YOU CAN DO IT...there were times that I had to take my child to work and school...yes the busy little three year old...(I know I would not have tried in the terrible twos stage). I just want to let you know that I could do it you can...:redpinkhe
thanks for your help and comments.

... Hi. I am an 18 year old intern at a GYN office. I was wondering if any one could give me advice on what to do!!... I just started about 2 weeks ago, after the third day i was already left alone with patients writing progress notes and sending out cultures!! I am very nervous about making a mistake and messing with someones health!!! that is obviously not the reason i wanted to intern. I am overwhelmed with a ll the responsibility over EKG's, IM shots, SOAP notes, Doasges, and spelling all medications right!!! DOES ANYONE HAVE ADVICE!!!:sniff:

To all of you single parents out there in nursing school----you are my heroes. These days must be some of the hardest you spend but so worth it. Hang in there. One day at a time.....Godspeed to you all!

Principesa: Depending on the state where you are employed you may be doing tasks outside your scope of practice. I would confirm that with the Board of Nursing. In my state only licensed nurses can do some of the tasks your mentioned. Then talk to your supervisor and explain your desire to do the right thing but that you feel overwhelmed.
