I am new grad, working at trauma center for 1 year already. Tired of seeing blood and wounds, thinking about QUITTINg nursing. Any departments folks here can remmend that I don't have to see a lot of blood and wounds? Thank you for helps!

Gosh, that's the beauty of nursing...it doesn't have to be all or nothing. If you want a different pace you can switch to ANYTHING (with a little training, of course). I went from CCU to working in cardiac rehab. I loved being out of the crazy environment to one where I actually helped people get better, did a LOT of patient teaching, had a set schedule (no weekends or holidays !) a desk and working with pretty much the same type of patients every day (i.e. no surprises). Some life changes (going back to school) necessitated that I change jobs again and I went to work in the ER.
Have you talked with the hospital recruiter or HR person ? There a million things you could do with your degree. I have a friend who works for life insurance companies and she goes around to people's homes doing insurance physicals and assessments, drawing blood, etc. She makes pretty decent $$ and enjoys her job.
I say if you just quit nursing all together you are a.)showing that you have no initiative in exploring alternative career paths and b.)are giving up on a career that most Americans admire for its flexibility in job descriptions.
The sky is the limit......you just have to put some time in figuring out what sounds appealing for you. Good luck !

I didn't think I'd like neuroscience (had a mental picture of gorked out brain dead pts.) but it's nothing like I expected. Intellectually challenging with new stuff every day.
The world is your oyster. Why not join the float pool for a few months and get a taste of many units?
Good luck.
