2nd time re-applying to test for nclex-rn in california question

Published

Hi guys! I need your help.. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.. Thanks!

Ok so this is my second time reapplying to sit for nclex rn and instead of getting the eligibility letter i recieved a letter stating that i need to send them my clinical rotation etc., curiculum, etc.. from my school, and a copy of my ssn.. But i've sent all of it to them already when i first applied and i have taken the nclex rn twice already, yes i was devastated and sad about that but im definitely not giving up.. Then this letter came, now im really worried that i have to wait that long to try it again.. It took me almost a year to have my application completed and finally sit and take the nclex rn.. I graduated in the philippines 2009, and im currently here in the u.s. , so its gonna be hard for me to get those stuff at my school and let them send it to CA BRN, im gonna be honest my school sucks at giving those stuff especially if your not there in person.. Is there anybody out there that experienced this too? If so, can you please help me what to do or what to explain to the evaluator tomorrow when i call them? Please help me guys.. :(

@icetey: yes this is my third attempt, i was sad, devastated, and embarrassed for that but im definitely not giving up, it pushes me even more to pass it.. Im lucky that i have a very supportive family.. Goodluck to you too! We can do this!

So you mean that because this is my 3rd attempt, they really do require me to send those again? I was kinda thinking of that reason too.. Kinda make sense but i just wish my school was a few miles away from my home, but i guess if they really want that, i just have to do it.. Ill just a few more days to talk to the evaluator about my situation.. Your probably fine icetey, dont worry 'coz its your first repeat/re-apply application.. Keep me updated too when you re-apply ok? Good luck!

@nursecubanitaRN2b: thank you! Yes im currently studying even harder this time..

dont feel embarassed kabayan evrything has its own perfect time...we can make it in Gods perfect time he will give it to us,just have faith..:)

maybe kabayan bcoz its d 3rd attempt,im really not sure ,ive just read it here in d forum..yes kabayan ill kip u posted we can do it!!!...:smokin:

Hi kabayans! I failed 3 times in the NCLEX RN and I am on my fourth now. I reapplied and was required to submit clinical rotation or they call it "log book". Good thing I was able to bring my 5 forms which are duly signed , the ones submitted in PRC. Yet on their reply , the anlayst required me to submit description of where does cord cases or assisted deliveries were included like NCM 01 and the like. So I personally submitted my schools graded forms which I also authenticated before I left the Phils.

Now, I am waiting for my eligibility and I am really trying harder on my review. I am excited to be a USRN! Keep the faith kabayans!

@chubbyhappy - Happy Thanksgiving kabayan! Sorry to hear that but we can do this .. I am also a retaker... so it was really true that we are required to pass again additional requirements for reapplication....i'm just curious, weren't you required before your first application to pass those requiremets they are asking you now, because I have already submitted my clinical rotation ( the log book thing ) with signatures from CI's, sched of duty etc. during my first application....Anyway good luck to your review and we can do this kabayans.. God Bless us all...

Hello Iam! Yes it was submitted before and I am surprised. He was a new BRN analyst different from the one who handled and gave me my past 3 eligibilities. I think they are just trying to delay giving us eligibility. Bu I dont worry, the lady at the counter told me my eligibility is on the mail already. Just comply and never get tired of reaching our dreams. Good luck!

icetey: BRN sent me my eligibility already. All we international educated nurses just follow and complete their requirements and we will all be on or way to our goal of becoming a USRN. Goodluck!

what they are asking for the clinical rotation (dated from ncm100- ncm105) was not the 5pages PRC form. at first, i passed them the photocopy of my PRC form and they said it was not the clinical rotation. so i turned in a copy from my school.

school took them 3months trying to put together my clinical rotations, good thing that i keep track of my clinical rotation (hospital name, clinical instructor, date of rotation, area of rotation) so i gave it to them. it turned out that my school couldn't find any areas nor clinical instructor during my clinical rotation during those 3 months. so hopefully you have keep track of ur clinical duties.

@anne919 : i just want to make ask some clarifications, so what the CA BON is asking is the logbook with our RLE's, major, minor o.r. , no. of deliveries, assist , cord , etc...which i guess it's also reflected in the PRC form.... i am also a retaker and just waiting for the board's reply for my reapplication....my forms which were supposed to be submitted to the PRC were not signed anymore bec. after grad. i already left for the states...ur reply will he highly appreciated....thanks

clinical rotation= date of duty + name of Clinical Instructor + Hospital Name + area of rotation + no of hours.

the prc form/rle form is not what they are asking for.

the clinical rotation as described in the letter is the date of duty, name of clinical instructor, hospital name, area of rotaion, no of hours, clinical instructor signature. it should be dated in chronological order from ur ncm100 to ncm 105. mine didnot include all of my clinical rotation since my school's data base had deleted some of it and my rle book is not really that organized.

its timely to find the information coz my school took 3 months just to figure out the hospital names and date of my duties so i have to contact them and give them the entire information.

at first, i did what the others had done as stated from the begining of this thread. i turned in the rle form that includes my 25 cases from dr and or but they told me that its not what they are asking for. so i went back to the school just to give them my clinical rotation information. your letter from your evaluator indicates what are the other requirements other than this one. i took 6months or more just to complete the requirements because of the school. you know the system in the philippines so u have to be patient and be more generous to the staff just to expedite ur papers.

Why do u need to get paper works again from ur school..u did took the nclex already as u mention..so it shouldnt be no problem at all re applying? mine didnt took long for re applying and no need to contact the bon ca. how come urs is different??
