2nd time NCLEX-RN, 2nd time 265 Q's

Published

I took my exam on 10/2/06 and no results. It sucks that the CA BON can take up to two weeks to process results. First time I had 265 Q's, this time I had 265 Q's AGAIN! I really felt confident answering the first 75 questions, but when it kept going I tried not to lose myself. I took my breaks, read each question carefully, used the strategies that I learned from Kaplan, and spent the same amount of energy and time for each question, all the way until 265.... I even remember my very last question because I KNEW I got it right.

For those of you who took it twice and had 265's questions again, how did you feel afterwards? I honestly felt worse than the first time, probably because I had expected to have less questions. My confidence level this time around was much higher, and I am counting on that feeling for positive results. I'd love to hear input!

Hi,

I can relate. I just took the NCLEX for the third time yesterday! I am so scared to check my results tomorrow. I've done Kaplan/NCSBN online-also Saunders to prepare this time. My letters form the BON all said "near passing standard" ---On the 2nd attempt I was below in Pharm but I hardly got any of those questions. So I was very confused! Hopefully Saunders made the difference this time! I got 238 questions the first time, 265 the second, and 265 the 3rd??!!! I said prayers for us, let me know how you did!!!

the nclex is formatted in a mathematical algorithym. as you answer questions correctly the forthcoming ones become more difficult. at the same time this algorithym is assessing your overall competency. the number of questions does not have any bearing as to how you did.

it is an anxiety causing event to wait for the results. do not rule yourself out. for now and until a more expeditous notification of results is established we must wait.

good luck.

Good luck! Let us know.

Good luck and be sure to let us know as soon as you find out. Just getting though the NCLEX is an accomplishment in it's self as far as I am concerned, but to do it 2nd is even a greater one. :wink2::rolleyes:

The first time I took it I waited 2 weeks. I was on vacation and put my mail on hold in the post office and apparently received it when I was out, so when the big bin came I dug through the mail to find the big envelope (boo). I hope that I don't have to wait as long, but I shouldn't complain because I've heard stories of others waiting a MONTH!

Hey Velvet126,

Hang in there.....I know what you are feeling. Any news yet? After 100 questions you get burned out. My first time I had all 265 questions and it sucks so don't feel bad. I too live in CA and got my results today. Not to discourage you but one of my friend waited a month and passed. I am praying for you...............

the same thing happened to me on tuesday.i sat for my second nclex pn,had 205 questions just like the first time and trust me it is the worst feeling in the whole world.I checked the board of nursing website for my name but did not see it so that means i failed again.Hang in there though.......youl pass.As for me its the worst time in my life!

Just because it isn't on website doesn't mean you failed, some do not always post within the set time much better to wait. Have you tried the quick results with pearsonvue. Others have waited several days and could not see their name on the BON website and thought they failed but passed
