2nd Entry Nursing Applications for Sept. 2013 - U of T, York, McMaster

Published

Hello all, Just starting a thread here for any applicants to the 2nd Entry Nursing Program for U of T, York, and Mac.

People can:

-ask questions and/or post when they have received an offer of admission or rejection

-share their marks/volunteer experience

-support each other during the super stressful waiting game

-discuss application issues, essay questions, prerequisites, etc.

There was one last year and I found it super helpful to see what others were doing, when offers were going out, and which candidates were selected. It's also a good reference for next year's potential applicants.

For myself, I have applied to U of T, Mac, York, and Dalhousie, with an A- or 3.66 GPA overall and 3.63 in my last 30 credits (10 half courses or 5 whole courses). I do not hold a Bachelor degree, but am in 3rd year at York's Honours BA Psychology, and hold an Associate of Arts from Langara College in BC. I have several years experience volunteering for an inner-city after-school program, for a crisis intervention phone line, and with fundraising.

Last year I was rejected from U of T with 3.53 in the last 30 credits, and only 2 years post-secondary. I had a C+ in one of my reported pre-requisites.

Hope this helps everyone and best of luck to you all!!

Look for McMaster Accelerated Nursing class of 2015

Does anyone know how many spots are in the Accelerated class at Mac?

Based on previous year FB groups, looks like around ~50? (probably more because a lot of people don't use FB too)

I was accepted to McMaster today!!! Conditional acceptance based on completion of the courses I'm currently in at %70+

i only applied to York since i'm already a student there and will be graduating this june. My cGPA is 3.3 and my gpa in my last 30 credits will be around 3.7 once my grades become official. do you guys think i have a shot? I'm still waiting to hear back but I think i'll get a response once my grades are finally entered into the system.

Internal applicants won't hear back until june(from what I was told), but definitely. So long as you also have high grades in the pre-reqs. They told me I had a good shot at getting in and my GPA is lower than yours and I don't have a degree.

I received an acceptance from York a month ago, but they dont mention exact deadline for deposit. Do you know when york deposits are due or have paid it already? Even when i called, none of the departments gave me a consistent answer @-@

If you have a student login already, if you log into the current students website and go to "money matters" section, they might have it under student account or something.

Are you an internal applicant?
