NCTC ADN Fall 2020

Published

Anyone else applying to ADN program at NCTC in Gainesville for Fall 2020? Still waiting to hear back about my status, just making sure I didn't miss the email.

AClark Did you get your fingerprints done? I'm hoping we get the drug test email soon so we can get that over with. We start 2 weeks from tomorrow! LOL any word on your TWU major change? My app status says "ready for review", not sure what happens next though. Hoping it goes thru soon.

I got my fingerprints done on July 28th. Still no word on the drug tests though. And I am also waiting on the registrar office to finish processing my major change so I can enroll in those two classes! I'm really on the edge of my seat because they answered my first email fairly quickly but the second time I sent in my revised form it is taking them quite a while to actually process my change.

Hi guys, so quick question about the blended program with TWU. How is it better than completing the ADN and doing the 30 hours to get a BSN at say UTA or TWU? How long is the blended program to be able to earn both your ADN and BSN as compared to if you do the ADN and then do your BSN? Please help me clarify this, can not find much information about the blended program except for the prerequisites for it. Thank you.

With the blended ADN-BSN program it takes two years to get your ADN and BSN simultaneously.

ADN Program= 2 years

BSN Program = 2 years

RN to BSN program = around 9 months

If you got your ADN first (2 years) then did a RN to BSN program for your BSN it would take an additional 9 months to obtain your BSN. This 9 months does not include your basic pre-requisites that you have to complete BEFORE applying for the RN to BSN program. Those pre-requisites are your history, government, Chemistry, Microbiology, and other CORE classes.

If you finish the BSN pre-requisites prior to applying for the ADN program then you may qualify for the ADN-BSN sister program. Admission into this program is not guaranteed BUT you have a chance.

I hope this cleared things up for you. If you need clarity feel free to ask!

Oh! I get it now. This is a clear explanation, thank you. So how many classes will you be taking on average each semester to be able to complete both the ADN & BSN in 2 years. Are the BSN classes online? I know it might be bit early to tell right now anyway.

BSN classes are online.

Semester 1: 12 hours (7 NCTC / 5 TWU) 5 classes

Semester 2: 14 hours (8 NCTC / 6 TWU) 4 classes

Summer 1: 9 hours (All TWU) *Can be split between two summers if you enter in the Spring 3 classes

Semester 3: 15 hours (9 NCTC / 6 TWU) 5 classes

Semester 4: 14 hours (8 NCTC / 6 TWU) 4 classes

Oh okay, It helps that some are online...It is a pretty tight schedule. Thanks for the information. Wish you all the best. Waiting for my degree audit and will be putting in my application before the deadline. Have a wonderful first semester guys.

Thank you very much! For reference all of the TWU courses are online so about half of your workload is done online for sure. Good luck with your application!

Just stumbled across this thread.  We had 13 blended students in our class when we started. Spring 2021.
