AClark Did you get your fingerprints done? I'm hoping we get the drug test email soon so we can get that over with. We start 2 weeks from tomorrow! LOL any word on your TWU major change? My app status says "ready for review", not sure what happens next though. Hoping it goes thru soon.

After you apply and get accepted to the ADN program, they'll let you know if you qualify for the BSN program and then you apply to that. As far as points, I think I had 22? Not sure what the rest of the applicants had. But it was also a weird semester to apply with covid going on, people losing their jobs and maybe not being able to accept a spot due to financial situations, etc. So it's hard to say if this semester is similar to the others in the past.

It does suck that everything is delayed, honestly when it took so long for us to hear back from the ADN program I thought it was gonna be canceled due to lack of clinicals, etc. They've actually been really quick with my app stuff, all of my transcripts are on file now and my app status says "ready for review". By whom, I don't know LOL so hopefully they'll switch yours soon too!

I just checked the schedule for the first 7 week course that we would start in August, the intro to BS nursing, it still has 24 seats open with only 6 enrolled so far LOL that seems odd for it being only about 2 weeks out.

Maybe in the past they've only had a couple people who qualify in each class? That would be crappy if they invited all 6 of us to the info session and then only accepted 2 or 3 LOL

I emailed Dr. Stankus yesterday letting her know I'm interested and asked if what I did was correct (put RN BSN on the app) She said that was correct and to just monitor my email in case they are missing anything. They already got my app from applytx and a few transcripts have arrived. I've gone to lots of colleges LOL that would be really cool if several of us were able to do the blended program, it'll make it seem less scary LOL Did Stankus say she was gonna send out some kind of packet today?

Since there was a choice on applytx for a first and second preference, I just put both. I guess I should have applied to the school a while ago, I just didn't know how any of it worked. I hope it's not too late for them to admit me to the school with it being only a few weeks out. I'm also still confused on whether or not we are accepted into the blended program automatically since we were invited to the info session? LOL I feel like I have so many questions now.

You mentioned in the meeting that you've already applied to TWU, did you put RN to BSN as your program? On applyTX there is no option for the blended program and I don't remember if they mentioned which one to choose. All I see is BSN or RN-BSN.

I tried making an appointment close by but the only thing available in the next 7 days is in Oklahoma LOL I went ahead and made an appointment for tomorrow to just get it done since they said ASAP. I live north of the metroplex anyways so its no biggie. I just couldn't believe there were no appointments in the metroplex any time soon.

I was wondering how that worked! I'd love to do the bridge program at the same time, I didn't know if we had to apply for that or if we qualify it automatically means we are in. I had an email exchange with Diane with the ADN program, she said an email will go out to those accepted that qualify and a meeting will be set up. I'm guessing you have a bachelor's? I'd like to think I qualify from the info she sent me, but when I got my degree a long time ago I didn't care about grades and my GPA was not fantastic. I've since taken lots of other classes with better grades, so I'm hoping that's good enough LOL

That's crazy about how they cut the class size already from 60 to less than 30.. I wonder how many people applied. I've been curious as to where I fell in the rankings, I have B's in both A&P I and II, and my TEAS scores were all good but got a 67 in science. I do have my EMT cert, maybe that helped. Something that is weird to me is the 2 step TB test LOL I've had to get a TB test several times in my life for various jobs, I've never had to do 2 tests in a row. Thought I was done with that last week then realized I had to get another one this week. That'll be my last thing I have to turn in.

That is a bummer ? I saw the disclaimer in the email that said even though I've been accepted there's a possibility of not starting in the fall due to having to cut class sizes even more. Do you know how many were accepted vs. how many there are normally? I'm curious about how clinicals will work too. The information video said the first semester is nursing home clinicals, but I didn't think that would be something we'd do now since they are the most vulnerable demographic.

I emailed someone with the ADN program yesterday asking for any info, she replied this morning saying they are still working on it, and that it's been a very difficult process. I'm just not sure how it'll work with such short notice to get everyone drug tested (which I assume may take longer these days) and everything else that needs doing. Plus if someone is wait listed, then we have to wait even longer for those chosen to let them know yes or no. It's a stressful time for everyone for sure. :(
