I purhased the Ncsbn learning extension review course last week. So far, I find their content review overwhelming. Too much details. Done with Lesson 1&2, but I feel not satisfied with what I've read on their content review.
Then, I looked and skimmed over on my Kaplan content kindle ebook. I find it easier to read and understand. Their content is mostly straight to the point and more organized.
I need to refresh my content. Unfortunately, I tried the saunders book but it does not work on me.
Just wanna know any of your comments and experiences re ncsbn online review and kaplan content rn review book or the kaplan basics book. I have their both ebooks. Do you think the kaplan books are helpful or better than the ncsbn content? Any share would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well for me I thought ncsbn was very good...they explain why they choose the answer. I read the Kaplan book only and I was thinking I wasn't going to have a lot of time to rethink every question. So for me the ncsbn was much better. If I had money I would have love to try the Kaplan just to see if I could understand it. I took the nclex-pn and I thought the test look like the ncsbn review for sure. There wasn't a lot of questions with long questions...they were a few but most were a few line only . I hope this help you ...good luck

I used NCSBN for test review and rationales ONLY; I used the Kaplan book for helping with test taking strategies.
At this point, your focus should be on question and rationales review; the NCLEX is not content based; it's application based-understanding WHAT the question is asking you.
The main principles in becoming a entry level licensed nurse is:
1. Safe, effective care;
2. Health promotion
3. Physiological Integrity;
4. Psychosocial Integrity.
Review content only if the questions that you review stump you; otherwise, you completed your nursing program; the knowledge is there already; you have to have a comfort and competently APPLY why you know.
Best wishes.

I am using the NCSBN course, I believe that it was the most helpful. I used ATI and Saunders Q &A cd for content. NCSBN make up the NCLEX and what you see on there, is the content that is on the exam. Yes, its overwhelming but try to emphasize answering the questions and understanding the rationales. Also, practice strategies

I purchased both Kaplan and NCSBN when I studied for my NCLEX. After about a week I stopped using NCSBN it's too much information. I used the Kaplan book and Saunders for review. I wasted 50 bucks on the NCSBN.
Well maybe so but for me I started off like that going over everything in the program just to see, then I thought WHY...Then I just did question bank at the end of the program which is about 300 to 500 questions. When I didn't understand I would go back to the beginning to understand .
