NCLEX in 2 Weeks!!...FREAKING OUT!!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I failed my exam the first time and I am retaking it in 2 weeks, I keep rescheduling my test date (original Nov 5, now Nov. 12) due to anxiety. I feel like the more I study the less I know. I done Hurst the first time and now I am doing Kaplan (average 50's and 60's). I am FREAKING OUT!! :crying2:Like I can not afford to fail TWICE!!..I'm the bread winner in my family, so a lot is riding on this exam. Any suggestions on how I can study, retain the information, and gain confidence???........

Go and do it. No more rescheduling unless you fail again. The faster you face the beast, the faster you will pass it. Good luck.

are you taking the NCLEX PN or RN??

I'm taking the RN....I first took it in July..Am 6 months Post grad. All my knowledge is fading away.

I'm 7 months post grad and I'll be taking the Nclex, first time, next month! As long as we're reading what we're supposed to and answering nclex questions of at least 100 daily, we'll tackle that nclex. I believe you know more than what you think. Good luck!

I also graduated in May. I took NCLEX in July and failed at 265. I studied my brains out and retook it on Oct 15th and guess what I passed!

I believe that you will pass as well because when a person retakes it...most of them pass because they have studied SOO MUCH!...

Trust me, I was in your situation too! If I can do it, so can you!

How many questions did you take the second time around? and HOW did you study for it again??...Kaplan, Hurst Review, Saunders??..Please let me know.

I'm not sure how different the they test you for Kaplan Nclex Rn. I did Kaplan for PN and was scoring anywhere between 40-70's. I would read each section and then test on all 100+ questions over the section. I did it over and over until I made 100%. I did this until I finished the book. Once I finished, 3 days before the exam. I went over all the test I had taken to understand them. Took 2 practice tests to see if I was ready. One thing I learned after failing the first time is Don't Memorize the material, Learn It. I wrote down "only" the info that I thought I didn't understand and went over it the morning of the test during breakfast. I went in there feeling more confident than ever and thankfully smiled throughout the whole thing because many questions on the NCLEX were over the material I had studied. I did the QBank straight for nearly 1 month. Stay focused and don't give up. Have confidence in yourself. You'll do fine!

u will pass hun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you attend the live review course for PN to get the book? Where did you get the book?

Is it the book that comes when you purchase the online q bank? Thanks

I had the PN Book and online Q bank. It actually came with the Kaplan College VN program I attended but I think the cost is $129 on the Kaplan website. I believe it is the same material.
