NCLEX in 2 Weeks!!...FREAKING OUT!!!

Published

I failed my exam the first time and I am retaking it in 2 weeks, I keep rescheduling my test date (original Nov 5, now Nov. 12) due to anxiety. I feel like the more I study the less I know. I done Hurst the first time and now I am doing Kaplan (average 50's and 60's). I am FREAKING OUT!! :crying2:Like I can not afford to fail TWICE!!..I'm the bread winner in my family, so a lot is riding on this exam. Any suggestions on how I can study, retain the information, and gain confidence???........

I'm new to this site, so am not quite sure how to start a new post, but I have also failed the NCLEX. I took it first Sept. 25th, and failed in 85 questions. I got a ton of meds and calculations! I just rescheduled today; new date is Nov. 22nd. I need help!! How do I study, again? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! I do not want this test to defeat me again!

Did you sign up for Kaplan review?? According to allnurses.com, the top study manuals are Kaplan, Saunders and Lacharity. I have been doing 75-100 questions/day and reading the rationals. I just signed up for Saunders online review today and its going great. Take your time and review as much as you can, Know your weakness and make it a strength. WE can do this!!

Thanks for the encouragement! I just can't stop feeling terrible!!! My family thought I would pass for sure, and when I did the trick and it said I failed, I just sobbed! I'm trying to stay positive, but it's so hard after failing! I've been studying nonstop since the beginning of October (or as much as I can). My school is going to kick me out of the Bachelors program if I don't pass this test by Dec. 18th, and this is my last shot! I just keep thinking: I only have 21 days left to study! I've been doing the MEDS Review DVDs, NCLEX 4000 questions, and trying to breathe! Hope it's enough this time!

Hi ECN, I completely understand how you feel.. I first took the nclex in August and I was completely devastated when I found out that I failed it. I was sooooooo stressed out and anxious about that test. But once I sat down and really figured out what I did wrong, I realized I went into that exam for the wrong reasons. I stopped letting the stress of my job and my family get to me. I signed up for Kaplan and purchased the saunders and la charity books. And started studying from scratch, I became less anxious and stressed about the test. Now, I will be testing again in 2 more weeks and I feel like a different person and am scoring a whole lot better on the practice exams. No matter how hard it may seem, you have to just take a step back and really decide if you are reedy to take the test. Don't rush it (that was my biggest mistake) and don't make your life situations push you.. Just study and learn to relax and take your time (even though you may feel like you don't have any).. Only you can determine when you are ready to take the exam

Thank you, tbjscheer! You're right! I need to let go of all the stressors and just focus on studying to pass! I take the exam in 2 weeks also... And thanks for saying I can take my time. My family has been pressuring me to take it ASAP, but I don't think I'll be ready that soon! I really love this site! My family gives me encouragement, but it's totally different comming from someone in the same boat! Good luck on your exam!!! :)

No problem...and good luck to you too!! :o)

I got the GOOD POP UP!!..I hope that means what I think it means!!! (fingers Crossed)!!!

GOD is Good.

A lot of my friends got that pop-up, and all of them have passed.

Good luck!

Thanks guys, I got my licence online today!! WhoooooHOOOO, GOD is GOOD!!...am a nurse.

I too graduated in May of this year, I took NCLEX in July and failed and then again in September and failed. I am retaking it for the 3rd time next week and scared out of my mind. I have really bad text anxiety and I am hoping to overcome it this time b/c I am about to give up. I know I wont give up but it is really depressing....I know just how you are feeling
