Nclex vs uworld sata

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I have been using a lot of resources since I've been studying for about 5 weeks now. My test is on July 15th. I'm so nervous.

To anyone who took the nclex and used uworld, how similar were the SATA questions on the nclex compared to the ones on uworld? I have been improving on SATA and I wonder what the SATA questions on the nclex were like.

I've been using: Kaplan Qbank, Saunders comprehensive book for content, uworld, and sometimes I will refer to Kaplan drug book and nclex mastery. (I love uworld & the saunders book!)

My average for uworld is a 61%, which makes me really nervous.

My Kaplan QBank ranges from mid 50s up to a few being 70.

Let me know your thoughts? study tips regarding use of uworld? Thanks!

I did uworld and Saunders when prepping for my NCLEX. Prior to uworld, I got almost every SATA wrong. Uworld really helped me get comfortable with that format. I felt like the NCLEX SATA were broader than the UWORLD questions.

Thanks for your response fellow nurse! What do you mean by broader? Did you find them easier than Uworld?

Thanks again!

If you really know your content, you could consider uworld more difficult than NCLEX. I just got so used to uworld that it took me a second to adjust while taking my NCLEX. Uworld felt like the questions were more specific. For example, uworld might ask about s/s of alcohol withdrawal after 12 hours and the SATA options would be 5 different s/s. but nclex might ask about alcohol withdrawal and have SATA options that talk about symptoms, vital signs, labs, medications, safety measures, etc...if that makes a little more sense.

Yeah that does, it seems like a more critical approach as well. Thanks for the help. I will continue to do some research!

Good back and forth; thank you!

I took the NCLEX this past Wednesday. I used Uworld, I felt their SATAs really helped me. My test shut off at 75 questions and I had 30 SATA. I just found out this morning that I passed. I started out using other resources ( NCSBN course, VATI ) and towards the end of my studying I exclusively used Uworld. I had a lot of anxiety leading up to my exam, and I was surprised at how easy I thought it was. My Med surg 2 final was a lot harder.

is Uworld unnecessarily difficult for nclex rn?

NLCEX is the same difficulty as UWORLD.

I was thinking the same thing - my Med-Surg 2 (Critical Care) class was 10x harder than NCLEX.

so should i keep doing Uworl questions? Do i need to review content. I did NSCBN some stayed...but i don't know I'm 68th percentile....

Look at this way; UWorld conditions your mind to prepare for anything the NCLEX might throw at you. Reading long detailed questions with close tedious answers everyday forces your mind to operate at a higher level. When you do the actual exam its like a joke compared to UWorld.

Atleast that was my experience.
