NCLEX 2 timer

Published

Hi this will be my 2 time taking the Nclex. Took the nclex and failed at 75 question (I alway thought that 75 was the magic number but it's not:crying2::crying2:) I will be taking it at the end of Feb. I am going to need alot of prayer and support because even as I study I worry about the day that I have to take the exam and I don't want a repeat of what happen the 1st time. I've noticed that this form is very supportive and provides a lot of word to keep one encouraged. :nurse:

Goodluck to you !! Are you doing Suzane4's study plan? I highly recommend it.

1st I like to thank you for reply and giving me so encouragment.

I got the first tip and I sent my e-mail so I do plan on using suzanne4 study program

Your welcome. Also read the stickies above and other threads giving tips on how to take the exam.

One thing that I would suggest is to take your time answering each question, esp. if it's a piriority type question. Eliminate right away the two obvious incorrect options and concentrate on the remaining two (w/c are almost always both correct but one is the better option). I think you can also hurry up a bit on the tutortial since this take some time out of your 6 hrs and you already know what to expect anyway.

Based on the experiences of some examinees is that if you had mostly priority type questions, a few select all that apply and no calculations and meds, you have a good chance that you passed it.

Good luck again and believe in yourself. Try to relax days before the test and during the test itself.

Hi Immortal,

Just want to send some more encouragement your way. Rest assured in knowing that just because you didn't pass the first time doesn't mean it has to repeat itself. I came to this board before taking my exam and it really helped. There are some really knowledgeable people on this site and are very encouraging. I'm sure that if you follow the study plan and read some of the other tips on this board/site you won't go wrong.

Remember Relax and Believe in yourself.

There is a tutorial at http://www.ncsbn.org that you can go through before the exam. Once you get to the website, click on "candidates" in the left column, which will take you to a different page. Once there, click on NCLEX candidates tutorial. I am not recommending skipping the tutorial when you are at the actual exam. I am just giving information that will familiarize you with the exam ahead of time.

I have the same problem. I thought that 75 was the magic number. I had a problem with pearson vue when my test was originally scheduled for sept 13. i reshceduled for oct 10th, but they supposedly lost my info and said I never did it on the computer. I finally got a date for nov 23rd, and I failed at 75. I got mainly priority ques with a few disaster assessment ques and a whole lot of delegation questions. when my results came, everything said near the passing standard except for like 2 or 3 things which were below the passing standard. I have been doing the nclex 3000 and the saunders cd. My test is now wed morning, the 11th, 9am. I am psyched out, freaked out, tossing and turning at night, gained 3 lbs in the last week and a half.... It's so hard to maintain a positive attitude when you fail once before. I'm trying so hard to keep saying "you're going to pass, you're going to pass," but deep down I'm petrified that I will be taking it a third time. I even feel like all the motivation I need is there- good job, more $$, no more part time job making little money an hour and no more studying and stressing out about the nclex. Finally a full-time job that I love doing, and having a set schedule. Money in my pockets and debts paid off......so why can't I just be positive if all those things should motivate me to pass....why am I still saying, "Well, I can always take it again in 45 days...." ughhhhhh if anyone has any relaxation advice besides in through the nose, out through the mouth, or any suggestions on help to become positive in my 36 hours left before the test, please let me know!!!

thanks very much for letting me vent and trying to help me out!!

Hey shaycivic

I know how you feel but you can't give up you made it this far so there is no looking back you are an RN :nurse: and nobody can tell you different REMEMBER that. Just because you are taking it a third time dosen't mean anything. When I came to this website I saw a user say that she took it seven times and she finally made it. What I suggest to you is believe in the word of the living god and by that you know that all things through him is possible. Also check out suzanne4 study tip it truly works. I thought I would not be able to understand what it is that each question was asking me but doing her beginning study works I am able to eliminate the distractors, Pm suzanne4 give her your e-mail address and tell what methods you used to study she will be giving her study plan I haven't received mine yet but will be this week make sure you pm her.

Good luck and stay postive!.

Immortal,

I know what you mean. I took the NCLEX on Oct 24th and failed in 75 questions. I took the test on Monday and got the letter on Tuesday telling me that I failed. But you have to be postive. I did Suzanne's study plan and it has helped me and gave me a lot of confidence back.

You have to remain positive. I am going to pass the NCLEX this time. I am taking it on Friday, and I feel better prepared and more confident than before.

So dont give up and stay positive.

thank you for your help. this was my 2nd time taking the boards. The first time it shut down at 75. Today, it shut down at 265!!! It took me about 3 & 1/2 hours to finish the test, with only 2 alternative format questions and a whole lot of wondering, when is this test going to end!!! I stayed focuesed and I kept repeating to myself, "you are a nurse, you received a degree, you are the nurse in the questions. " every question that would say "the nurse blablabla" I would replace with "I." that helped me out I think. Too bad I find out the results on friday the 13th. I'm about to go play pick 3 lotto for the number 265 lol. The next 2 days will be agonizing, but hopefully I will have passed. I know there is no definate answer on 265, but the 2 out of 2 people I know from my class that went to 265 both passed, so that is at least one hopeful outlook towards it. I will be on here on friday to let you know regaurdless pass or fail. Worse comes to worse I can take it 45 days from now again. (I am trying not to repeat that though!). Thanks for your help and support. I will let you guys know asap! :banghead:

How long did you wait between the two tries?

You will pass. I too failed twice. Took it again last week and passed. I posted what seemed to help me in a different thread. Hope it helps you. Good luck.

I don't know if we are allowed to link to other postings or threads, but it is titled, "I Passed".
