If you will be taking NCLEX and would like to be prayed for, can we start a fourm for this. I know that some folks are not into prayer and I don't want to offend anyone, but I sure need it!
hi,what is the NSBN???
Thanks & good luck:up:
The NCSBN is the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.; they are the people who write the NCLEX. They have their own study program that you can buy access for either 3, 5, 8 or 15 weeks.
The link to the site is http://www.learningext.com/index.asp
Since I only got the 3 week version, and only had 2 weeks until the NCLEX when I bought it, I went straight for the questions. If I had more time I would have bought a longer version and tried to read all of the content.
I am now down to 5 days left. I am trying to keep it cool and not stress too much. I am using "The Secret" and I WILL be passing on my first try, no ifs ands or buts about it!

Hi All,
This is my first time posting to this forum. I took my NCLEX 10/3/08 (cutoff 75). My anxiety level is at an all time high. I can't sleep or eat.
It really helps to find a group that understand exactly what I am going through.
Please pray for me and I will pray for all who have passed, failed, and waiting.

Hello tonio123,I am sorry about your news but you are not alone. I received this wonderful poem from angie0621 so here it is for you. She stated that each time this happened to her she would read this poem.
THERE IS NO GROWTH WITHOUT EFFORT.
You grow by responding positively to change.
Growth means change and change involves risks when
stepping from the known to the unknown.
Your strength and growth will come only
through continuous effort and struggle.
All your growth depends on activity.
There is no development without effort.
Trouble is the common denominator of living.
It is the great equalizer.
Your trials, your sorrows and your grief's will develop you.
Whatever good or bad fortune comes your way,
you can always give it meaning
and transform it into something of value.
Wealth is nothing, position is nothing, fame is nothing.
Who you become inside is everything.
What happens is not as important as how you react to what happens.
Give yourself some time to relax but take a look at Suzanne's Plan for studying. Here's the thread 07/08 revision of Suzanne's First Tip. So many recommended this to me I checked into this, it's FREE! Each time you prepare for the NCLEX-RN you need to change up the way you are studying. DO NOT give up hope, you will get this exam. You can go under the STUDENT tab, scroll down until you see NCLEX Discussion, click on this and this is where I got this information. GOOD LUCK with your studies! :heartbeat Read some of the threads because more people than not have to repeat this test but when you do pass you will be a very competent nurse!!!:)

Thank you for your kind words. I totally feel like a looser. Specially when all my class mates pass on 75-265. I will keep that poem in mine to keep me going. Thanks for caring. Tonio123 from Seattle:nurse:
I believe in the power of prayer and would like to be prayed for! Sometimes no matter what the prayer- it comes back answered differently than we would like- but its all God's plan! I failed my first attempt at passing the NCLEX, but Im hoping and praying to pass the next time. I felt really down, especially since 2 of my cousins passed and I graduated with honors and I failed! I felt retarded but I know I did my best and studied really hard for it. Oh well- next time I hope to do better!
Figured I could offer some advice. I took my boards on October 3 for the first time and found out that I passed today in 75 questions. Preparing for the NCLEX ruled my life for about three months. I was told that the NCLEX is as stressful as planning a wedding, having a baby, going through a divorce or dealing with the death of a loved one. I agree. I had some serious stress symptoms (my hair fell out, broken out skin, insomnia etc.). The only advice I can offer for dealing with the stress is going to the gym or spending time with non-nursing school friends (so y'all don't sit around and talk about it).
To prepare, I used Saunders and Kaplan. Saunders is great content review and got me through HESI. I'm not nuts about the Kaplan strategy, but the trainers and Qbank were good. Expensive, but I'm not complaining especially since I passed in under two hours. But I really utilized it. First I completed every question in the Qbank. AND then I tackled the trainers. I finished the last trainer about a week before my test, and then started winding down. The night before, I reviewed some labs, infection control/precautions and some meds (no questions!). The morning of, I worked out, ate a good breakfast with lots of fiber (and woofed down a fiber bar about twenty minutes before the test). I also made sure I was well hydrated for the week before and of course the morning of.
Bottom line-I went in, had 75 questions in about an hour and a half, marched out of there and was about 90% sure I had passed. Lots of infection control, prioritization, couple meds, couple med/surg. It goes by in a blur. I took the NCLEX very seriously and it paid off. Nursing school is hellacious, so if you can survive that, chances are you can survive the NCLEX. Practice is the best approach (3000+) questions. And don't mess with your exam date. Pick a day carefully, and plan accordingly. Good luck! :redpinkhe
