It stinks that nobody told her that she was being moved and that you took all the heat
  2. I had to start repaying my loans... It didnt matter that I havent passed the NCLEX- they went from the date that I graduated. I called, but no such luck on getting them deferred.
  3. I failed the first time too. I think I used too many sources and ended up confusing myself.
  4. Congrats!!!
  5. Learn to balance school and social functions. You'll be busy, but it is important to take a breather every now and then. I found that I did better in class if I let myself have some fun. Just make sure to keep up on your studies!
  6. I havent even passed my boards and Im scared. In my four years of nursing school I never got to do any skills on a patient other than straight cath's. I mean we learned how to do the skills, but none of the patients I had in any of my clinicals needed anything that I was capable of doing. Im afraid employers will feel that because I have a BSN Ill know how to do more than I actually do. (hopefully that makes sense!) How do you ask for help for the simple things- I mean I dont want people to think Im totally incompetent, but I dont want to hurt a patient either! Ive never even done a blood draw. I feel like I skated through all my clinicals!
  7. Nights are my favorite- except when I was pregnant...I just got too tired! Im hoping when I get hired that a spot on the night shift will be open. I am not a morning person by any means! Getting up before 7 is like pulling teeth for me. I guess it is probably because I dont sleep well and I toss and turn all night long.
  8. scary! Hearing those types of things about health care workers is really discouraging. He said she said cases (or vice versa) always make me nervous... how do you even defend yourself?
  9. Im a new grad and I havent been able to find a job in central Ohio. Hospitals in my area are simply not hiring and my student loans are coming in. I will have to get a job unrelated to nursing just to make ends meet. Im disappointed, but people everywhere are having trouble landing jobs so I feel bad for complaining! The only thing is- the only jobs in my area seem to be for truck drivers and fast food. I feel really bad because I graduated college with honors (a BSN degree) and I cant find a job that requires even having a degree! Im worried, scared, and frustrated! My dad went on and on about how nurses will always have a job- but will we? Ill be taking the Nclex as soon as I can afford it- thats pretty sad huh?!?
  10. Sometimes I dont know what to post...Ive almost finished the first tip...does replying to a post count?
  11. Thanks for the advice! I didnt pass my first time either and ive been on edge trying to figure out out to study this time!
  12. I believe in the power of prayer and would like to be prayed for! Sometimes no matter what the prayer- it comes back answered differently than we would like- but its all God's plan! I failed my first attempt at passing the NCLEX, but Im hoping and praying to pass the next time. I felt really down, especially since 2 of my cousins passed and I graduated with honors and I failed! I felt retarded but I know I did my best and studied really hard for it. Oh well- next time I hope to do better!
  13. I feel the same way...but Im trying to think positive.
