  1. new to the threads as you can see i just joined today excuse me for my miseducation (not being sarcastic)
  2. Me personally i feel that you know your child and if you are not getting through to them any other way then spanking will do it. Children are different. My daughter 9 years i may have spanked her three times. My son seven maybe 6 times. Once i spank them i just give them a look and they know i mean what i am saying and they act right. The look lasts about three months. Children will try to pull your leg. No one wants to be the parent on maury shiow who cant control there out of control child because of lack of disicipline. My child could care less about time out or not getting a toy at the store for being bad or coming home from school on yellow. I don't beat my children and they know i love them but sometimes we have to do what we feel is right as parents out of love to keep our children on a path of respect. I dont downplay time outs if that works for you children. There are many ways to get through to children they are all different and therefore must be disiciplined in different ways. There is no one way to disicipline all children. Regardless of what experts say:jester: .
  3. I Agree With Southern Fried Rn. If You Only Talk About Work Related Issues And Focus On You Work Theres Little Room For People To Have Much To Gossip About ( In A Negative Way At Least) You Might Just Hear Compliments.

I remember 1 month out of nursing school my first nursing job was at a ltc. There was a nurse who had worked there 11 years. She had a permanent hallway. Whent i started working there. The don called me into the office and told me they wanted to schedule me on this hallway and that the other nurse would be moved to a different hallway. They did not tell this nurse, they just changed the schedule and when she came in i told her they assigned me there and moved her. She had 2 cows and a baby. She started yelling at me and telling me she wasn't going anywhere i was new and i dont have the senority to bump her. So we had to call the don at 6 in the morning and this lady got moved anyway.she rolls her eyes at me, doesnt speak to me . I did nothing wrong. I wonder why supervisors put you in these positions.( ive had it happen more than once) and why these people want to be mad at the pawn:jester: .
  5. I understand where you are coming from I was a c.n.a. six months before starting nursing school so it was bit hard for the transition at first. you just have to remember your job is not about the workers. you are an advocate for the patient. it sounds to me like you have warned her enough. at the start of shift i would pull her to the side and let her know what needs to be done. if its not done, at the end of her shift she would have a write-up waiting for her. it is important that your c.n.a. or whoever you are in charge of respect you as their boss and follow you orders as if the administrator or don would ask. sometimes its better said like this give them an inch, theyll take a mile. but you would be at fault at the end of the day. hope this helps and good luck:jester:
