If you will be taking NCLEX and would like to be prayed for, can we start a fourm for this. I know that some folks are not into prayer and I don't want to offend anyone, but I sure need it!

hi everyone! this is my situation right now, i am an american citizen but graduated from nursing school in the philippines.im back in boston and i am working as a nursing assistant...i know you all must be thinking...take the nclex already. i really want to but paper works in the philippines are taking so long. the state i am in is asking for many requirements such as having to go thru cgfns. and when i read posts about people just being able to get the nclex already, really frustrates me. so i really want to take it. i went to kaplan in the philippines and i learned alot from it. and its been a couple of months already and i dont want to drain out what ive learned because as time goes buy...you kinda forget and ur head goes blank. as i mentioned i am working as a nursing assistant in a nearby rehab place. my goodness...its tough work...as in physical tough work, your on your feet the whole day for 8 hours! and i told myself how can i study? work like crazy and study at home. and they are working me 40 hours a week pa! and the pay sucks...just because i studied nursing school in the philippines, they dont wanna give me the same pay as a nursing student in america workng part time there...i mean come on...we're doing the same job and ur just a student. i thought i would learn from working at a real hospital setting in a america that i would be able to apply it to nclex but no...you actually dont learn and people in america really dont go by the book like how its described in the nclex.

so i am taking a step back...there is another job offer to work as a recreation therapist which is more mellow and works with geriatrics but you do more postive things together and definitely will not keep me on my feet the whole day. the pay would be lower and i know i was complaining about my salary already at this job but my focus is being able to eally sit down and focus more on my nclex...

anyone please feel free to comment

hello!! oh my gosh i'm in somewhat of a simliar situation as you are..i feel cheated, not treated fairly because i didn't graduate in the states as well but i am an american citizen! i don't beleive you really have to take the cgfns but i guess that depends on the state that you apply in..i just applied straight for nclex and i'll be taking mine at the end of this month. anyways i got into a clinic and i'm disappointed and upset cause the doctor at that clinic was offering me a really low salary..despite me bringing my transcripts, my diploma, everything that can prove that i have a degree in nursing and just need to pass the nclex i brought in to my interveiw. i got offered 8.50 starting when i have already graduated and showed her my diploma!! :crying2: i know exactly how you feel and i just feel that this is so unfair..however it gives me more of a reason to pass my nclex exam..i don't deserve this kind of pay i really feel that people are just so unfair once they see that you didn't go to some nursing school here in the states and i know that once i pass i can get jobs immediately and the pay will be great..so it's frustrating.

advice as to keep your memory fresh while you wait for your paper work, keep reading. don't waste time even if it's 3 days a week or 2 hours a day just do your best in reading and practicing questions..hang in there and don't give up. get some motivation on how badly you want this like your job for instance. think about that! think about how you'll be able to move on with your life and be stable once you pass that test..that's really what's keeping me motivated although i won't lie..sometimes i really feel lazy..lol. anyways keep in touch and let me know when you're gonna take your test. i wish you all the goodluck in your future and to all foreign nursing graduates who are taking their boards and struggling finding good jobs. let's not give up!! we can do this!! :loveya:

i'm scheduled to take the nclex on sept. 12th today i am so nervous i feel like i can't concentrate and i'm on the verge of crying. i bought ncsbn's review and it doesn't even work...its a rip off in my opinion. i have already went through all of kaplan (read the whole book, all the videos and questions), and am now doing it all again for the second time. my scores are good 65-70 and everyone from my school that took kaplan passed with 75 questions...i'm just nervous. i don't think i got a very good education and feel cheated and confused eventhough i'm doing well. i'm contracted to work at a horrible hospital and am feeling very pessimistic...i don't know what to do...(hence the username). advice?

hey there! i'm sure you'll do just fine!! you've done your part, read the book, did kaplan's questions and here you are going over everything for the second time. that's awesome! keep at it and relax..everyone has felt this way before the test. i actually take mine at the end of this month and already i feel extremely nervous!!! be confident..you've done all that you can. try not to read 2 days before the test and just save that time for yourself. goodluck, my prayers will be with you. oh yeah, did i tell you that i'm from vegas too?? goodluck!! you can do it!!!    :D

if you trained outside of the us then you will always be classed as a foreign nurse and need to meet their requirements. each bon is different but most will require ces from cgfns

I don't know why I never saw this post before, but I'm so glad I did. Please add me to yours prayers, I am testing in the morning and although I have been faithful to study, I am feeling scared and nervous!

Thank you sooo much and God bless each of you.

I sat for the NCLEX PN 3 weeks ago today and am still waiting for the results! Just remember to breathe and relax. The test is just like practing. Take one question at a time and go with your gut!! You can do it!!!!

Congrats!! How long did it take you to get your results? LVN or RN? How many ?'s did it stop at? Sorry to bombard you with so many ?s. I am in Cali also and am anxiously awaiting my results! It has been an agonizing 3 weeks!!!!

hello everyone. Please add me to your list of prayers! Thanks!

Took my test yesterday and finished with 85 questions. It took me over 2 hours to answer them so I was getting nervous that I would run out of time if I got all 205 (LPN). I was surprised and happy when it shut off, I'd been praying for 85.

I had many SATA questions and med questions, many that i was unfamiliar with. Also a lot of prioritization. While I felt unsure about a lot of my answers, (I actually know for sure that I got one of those med ones wrong since I just saw a commercial for it :wink2:), I walked out of there feeling pretty good. Thanks for the prayers, I'm praying for you all too and will let you know when I find out my results.

Hi everyone-- I have a question.

I have already taken the NCLEX once and unfortunately I didn't pass (106 questions if you were wondering...) I think it was completely my fault because I thought that since I did well in nursing school there was no chance I wouldn't pass, but oh how wrong I was.

ANWAYS-- I am scoring like 55-65% on my Kaplan tests and about the same on other question sets I have found. I am scheduled to take it again on Sept 16, but I do not know if I am doing well enough to take it...

I feel that since failing, I have learned SO MUCH INFORMATION (props to the random fact thread as well as my other studying) but what do you guys think?? Postpone or what? Unfortunetly I have a job lined up so I can't really put it off for that much longer. They were nice enough to give me a second chance after my first attempt, but I really can't blow it this time around....

Any thoughts?? HELP?? haha please I just need some advice.

Thanks! KEBFDC
