NCLEX - SATA Questions

Published

I just graduated in December and I am currently preparing for the "Big One". I was just wondering if anyone had any good study aids for SATA questions. Like some of the other test takers, I have a tendency to add one or leave one off. I know of this one person who got 75 questions and 31 were SATA - so not cool (even if 15 were test).

Thank you in advance for your encouragement, I really need some of your wisdom as it relates to these SATA....please help if you can.

I also struggle with the same type of question. I'm taking my test in 4 days and im freaking out. they told me to answer the questions as if it were true or false and if there are 2 answers that are the same just worded differently they should both be clicked. I'm hoping this works. I will post after my test..

Thanks for your response. That is what they told us - treat it like a true/false. Good luck - I'm sure you will pass!!

All I can say is for me the SATA were very straight forward it wasn't like nursing school. Sure you had to think and use the knowledge base you used to pass nursing school but they weren't horrible. The true false is what I did and worked out great. Good luck and have faith

That's the hard part remembering if it's true or false in reference to that questions í ½í¸©í ½í¸± lol

what are you studying? I'm doing Kaplan.

Medication wise a good majority of the questions were med related? It's another weak spot

I am doing Kaplan. I did Hurst (Loved it) going back through it again. I just purchased a book to help me with NCLEX style SATA questions - should be here soon. I think I might do the three week NCBON test plan for $50. I am quitting my job on Sunday night and plan to treat this like a job. I'm doing ok on the q-bank questions and the QT's so far. I have a tendency to freak out when I am taking standardize test. I know it seems like a lot, but based on what I know about me - I pray that this combination works for me. I'm thinking end of Feb for testing.

Sata is hard but try lippincott alternate format question book it has a lot of sata question

That's the one I ordered. Should be here tomorrow. Thanks!

I have been a lurker here for quite awhile and the OP's question spurred me to finally register, lol. I took the RN NCLEX yesterday and the computer cut off at 75 questions. Not to alarm anyone, but I would say that at least half of my questions were SATA. I also am forever picking one extra answer or leaving an answer out on the "select all that apply". That being said, I studied everyday since graduating from school in mid December. Nothing crazy, just doing at least 100-150 questions each day from PrepU, studying the Saunders 5th edition with the CD, and answering questions from LaCharity a little each day. One thing I did do was make sure I chose the SATA question option on the Saunders CD to practice and (just a couple of weeks before the NCLEX) I ordered and looked through the Lippincott's Alternate Format questions book.

I was actually a bit pleasantly surprised (Can one use the word "pleasant" when it comes to the NCLEX?) that, as Gizelle22 said, most of the SATA questions seemed to me to be much more straight forward than I expected. I didn't think they were quite as difficult as the ones I had encountered in PrepU. Although I felt that I had a very large number of SATA, I seemed to get through them without too much difficulty. I am (impatiently) waiting my 48 hour results, but I am cautiously optimistic due to getting the "good pop up" from Pearson Vue 24 hours after the test. Anyway (from one SATA hater to another) I highly recommend the Saunders alternative format questions and the Lippincott book, which is basically a compilation of the PrepU alternate format questions.

Good luck on your test!

The SATA on the NCLEX are no where near as hard as Kaplan's SATA in my opinion. I did the HURST review on my own, did Kaplan in school and also I used Exam Cram questions. I say make it a goal to do at least 100 questions daily. But try not to stress the SATA honestly there were no where near as bad as the ones in nursing school. Good luck and happy studying!
