Published

Hi everyone I need some information I finish my RN last year in Decemeber and have not took my boards yet, due to some personal problems and a sick child now i want to give the exam and i have no idea where to start study now seems like i forgot everything,:banghead: is there anyone out there can suggest me anything what to study so I can give my boards sooner. Thanks a lot.

if you can afford it, i suggest you sign up for a nursing review course (kaplan, marlene hurst, ncsbn learning extension, vipra med. etc.). if the costs for these are too expensive, go to your local bookstore and purchase a nclex-rn comprehensive review book, exam cram, etc. that you are comfortable with. most books come with a cd that contains 1,500 - 4,000+

if you use the saunders comprehensive review book, you can take their pretest and from your test results, the software will prepare a 6 week (i think!) study schedule for you. this will help you get started with your studying.

there is also a book, referenced on this site quite frequently, by linda lacharity that discusses prioritization, delegation and assignment that is very good. you may find this book useful as you study your nclex-rn comp book.

good luck with your studies!

First determine what you need to do. It's either you need to focus on content or your test taking skills. If you need to focus on your content, get a book (Saunders, Mosby, Kaplan RN Course Book) any book will do since it features the same thing. I used Kaplan RN Course book because I don't like books with bulky information and I just wanted to know the basics since NCLEX is mostly basic. If you're already equipped with knowledge on content, practice questions daily. I would suggest using Kaplan questions or Exam cram.
