NCLEX RN self review books tips?

Published

Hi goodday everyone! i just wanna ask if what book did you use while you're for nclex? any tips for self review? coz ill be having my baby girl this May and only have couple of months to study. just wondering what book and study guide really helped you to passed the exam. i am very determined to study hard i just don't know which book and where to start since i have been off in nursing career since 2010 and have no idea with foreign exam. thank you so much guys!

well congratulations on your baby girl!

i found hurst review extremely helpful. i failed the first time because i just didn't understand how to apply the content that i already knew. hurst really helps connect the dots and lays that firm foundation that you'll need to pass the NCLEX. it was definitely worth the money spent. you can attend as many live reviews as you want and they also provide like 3 sets of practice questions and a booklet that you can take notes in.

i also used a pearson reviews and rationals book that was pretty awesome. the website kind of sucked but the book was a great in depth review. and repetitive, which i appreciated. you can just walk into a barnes and nobel and check it out if you're skeptical.

saunders is good but i found it too easy. the book is basic, some people like that. im the kind of person that needs repetition and this book doesn't do that. a few people i knew swore by this book.

good luck, you'll do great! stay positive and study much! ..and get some sleep. lol

PDA by Lacharity. I've used 3 other review books and they don't even compare to how much PDA helped.

Hi @DianaBG10! Did your daughter tried the hurst review? Is it good? I'm also planning to take my NCLEX RN this june. Any suggestions for self review or good online reviews? Thanks!

I agree, Hurst is good with content. Easy to grasp, easy to understand. They have the free trial online I believe, you might want to check that first. Also, I bought an online interactive version of La Charity's PDA 3rd edition. I like it more than answering the book itself that you need to flip every now and then to check for the answers. It's cheaper too. Saunders Q&A can also help you with contents. :)

Congrats on your baby! :D

Good luck! You got this!
