Hi everyone,
It is great joy to write my 1st post !!
I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 2009 December from India.
I came to New York with a dream to work here as a Registered Nurse.
After receiving my ATT I gave myself two months to study for the NCLEX-RN
I didn't have much hope because I graduated from India and I found things a bit too hard for me here.
I never stressed on drugs and normal values when I was in Nursing School, So I was finding it impossible to
pass the NCLEX at the first attempt
I took Kaplan On Demand Online Review for NCLEX-RN which costed me $400, and received the RN Course Book with it.
This is what I did :-
Firstly, I read Saunders NCLEX-RN Comprehensive Review. (I almost read the whole book)
I heard all the LOD Class Questions videos, it is amazing how she teaches you to tactfully handle each question.
I couldn't hear all the content videos but I tried to just skim through them.
I solved all the questions on the Kaplan Q Bank and made sure I read all the rationales to the ones I got wrong.
I most importantly stressed on the Endocrine system and the Cardiovascular (and I had a couple of questions from
Endocrine system on the exam)
I read a few downloaded notes which I found on this site, they were very helpful, I got prints and used
to read them during my break at work.
And most importantly I prayed, I asked God to help me work hard and bless my efforts.
My exam experience :-
I took it on Dec. 5th @ 8.00am
I had about 8-9 select all that apply questions.
10 questions on drugs alone.
about 10 questions on ''who do you see first''
and 1 drag-and-drop
My exam stopped at 75 questions, and I thought I failed, because I believed I could never pass at
75questions, I cried and cried for two days, I was so sure I failed.
I began to read my old notes and started to prepare for my next attempt even before finding out my results.
I was sad but i was not scared to try again !!
Yesterday, I went to pearsonvue.com and checked my result, and I found out I had passed !!
I thank GOD the most for my success, and I thank GOD for my mom and dad who believed in me
when I had lost hope.
So for the ones talking your test, please please believe in yourselves !! don't be like me
and for the ones who did not pass your NCLEX, Please don't be scared to try again.
Keep moving though little by little the key is to ''keep on keeping on''
God Bless you all and wish you the Best.
I would just like to end with a Bible verse which I read the day I took my NCLEX-RN., it says,
''Faith is being sure of what we hope for''--Hebrews 11:1
Have Faith in God and in yourselves.
If I can do it, so can you !!

Congratulations Macann!!! Could you share your Kaplan scores (Trainers & Q-Bank) with everyone here please? I am taking Kaplan as well. I did all the questions, read all rationales (right & wrong), and looked up topics that I don't know from my Saunders 5th ed book while going over the rationales.
One thing that I am concern and doubt about myself is that I don't have time to watch the content videos and study the Kaplan book. My test is next week. I am thinking about rescheduling it. Do you think I am ready or should I reschedule my test? What are your advices? Thank you!
My Kaplan scores are as follow:
Diagnostic- 60%
T1 - 63
T2 - 61
T3 - 56
T4 - 51
T5 - 54
T6 - 60
T7 - 61
Readiness - 61%
Q-Bank Average (85% finished) - 62% average
